OT: Auburn students working hard to keep Bama fans out of the stadium

Auburn fans do NOT want Alabama fans getting hold of student tickets, and are taking some pretty hilarious steps to do so.

The Auburn Ticket Exchange is a facebook group for Auburn students to negotiate ticket prices, buy and sell, etc. Tickets go on a student's "ignited card," which is swiped at the gate (although anyone can use anyone's card) for entry. Buying a ticket from a student (if you're not a student) involves borrowing their ignited card (for a deposit on the card). Anyways, moving on from that.

it's getting real up in the ticket exchange.

  1. In response to Alabama students attempting to join the group and/or messaging members of the group, the group is now "closed."

  2. Anyone on any University of Alabama network was booted from the group, and this is checked daily.

  3. The group quickly bans any member caught selling tickets on the Alabama Ticket Exchange... permanently. If they're not a senior, they're going to have a tough time ever selling a ticket again as a result.

Oh yes, it's Iron Bowl time, and the insanity has definitely already begun.

War damn?

Edit: Now the mods are deleting all posts not directly related to buying and selling tickets, so there's less posts about not selling bama fans tickets or complaining about how the mods are nazis, and less craziness on the timeline in general, but it's still happening.

or not at all, but it wasn't students sitting near me in 2009 and 2010 who booed our own fucking team—the douchebags who were booing were all older "adults."

This is what happens when you have a meh year like we're having. I'm guessing Auburn students were probably not this fervent about it two years ago when they were beginning to tank under Chizik, and everyone was expecting Bama to steamroll Auburn. That's going to be a potential top-5 matchup in an extremely heated rivalry.

If we were a top-10 team this year, too, I'd expect our students to be doing the exact same thing.

Section 22, Row 45 (2 tickets) for $290.00 each vs. Ohio State.

Ridiculous. Those are awesome seats for what would be a dream, bucket list experience for some.

In two years, that ticket will be 5 times higher in price no doubt, or more.

But even David Brandon and 6-3 before the Iowa game cannot halt the magnificent force of supply and demand curves.

I hope that anyone who sells their tickets w/o making sure that they end up in the hands of M fans thinks of Taylor Lewan.  A guy who gave up millions to play for Michigan for just one more year.  For months of blood (literally) sweat and tears to make The Team the best it could be.  For one more chance to play for us Michigan fans.  For one more chance to come out for senior day.  One more chance . . .  to get booed and cursed at by the Bucknut you sold your ticket to for $25 more dollars.

IMHO - Anyone who sells a ticket to an OSU fan rather than an M fan will have to live with being a scumbag for the rest of their damn lives.  If they make that choice for 25 bucks, then they are fucking scumbags and I hope that Taylor Lewan somehow finds them and kicks thier ass.

If you want to sell, cool.  Find a Michgan fan who will go to the game and sell to him or her.

But hey, that's just my feelings man.
