OT - any car guys out there?

Submitted by RockinLoud on
I'm a pretty big car guy and wondered if anyone of you was as well. I love Imports (just sold my '06 wrx) but nothing beats the sheer awesomeness of a muscle car. So with that, here's one of the most awesome sounding engines I've ever heard. hot rod
Feel free to share what kind of car you have/want and any vids. I for one would be happy to see.

Well, I kinda went in the complete opposite direction with my car: a '62 VW Beetle. I love terrorizing State Street and Packard with my 40hp. During the last football season, I lived on north campus and would always see the hoards of freshman waiting for the bus on Saturdays. Being a nice guy and all, and knowing the history the beetle has on college campuses, we stuffed as many little'uns in the back as possible and then drove (very slowly) down to central. Good times...

I am a huge car guy, I have a 1968 mustang fastback, 1968 mustang GT convertable, 1994 mustang cobra, 1995 mustang GT convertable as my toys. My wife and I both have our normal work cars too. I am not into nascar!

I needed better sunglasses for the video though. I'm not sure why, but my neighbor up the street has 4 Vettes (in addition to his Avalanche). He has an ugly-looking, orange, mid 70's type, 2 new ZO6's (one yellow for his wife, and one navy for himself), and a new black Lingenfelter. He has 2 full size hoists in his garage, and his entire wall on the one side is ALL manuals. I'm not sure if he's a "car guy", a "Vette guy", or a debt guy. I wonder if I could sneak one of these by my wife by telling her it gets good gas mileage:

car guy myself, but I don't really have money to get into it. turbocharged my 2.4L cavalier, brought it down to a 13.96 in the quarter from 16.12 stock. really just biding my time until I can purchase an Evo. I would love a 68 GTO for a project car (not so much a daily driver) !

I have always loved Detroit Muscle. Many of my High School buddies had Mustangs and Camaros, a few had Chevelles. I can't help but laugh when I hear these cars that sound like a giant Bumble Bee farting as they pull away from the light. My brother-in-law has a WRX with the inner-cooled turbo and all the bells and whistles. That thing corners like a fricking dream and has some mad pull off the line and even all the way up to 100 or so but it still does not have the same feel as sitting in a 12 second camaro. Little side note though, I have to go change my shorts the front of them are all wet after hearing that motor.

I know how you feel - I'm a proud owner of a beautiful 68 Cougar, but don't have the chance to drive it very often. When I do get the chance, I always make sure to humble the import drivers who challenge my manhood at the stoplight.
