OT: Another update (with pics). Our dog, Blue, is home

I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support for Blue and wanted to provide another update to everyone as requested by many of you. Blue's hip-replacement surgery was successful. We are blessed to have her home safe and sound. She is doing extremely well, though still heavily medicated and with limited mobility. She is happy to be home with her family and looks funny without fur on half her bottom; the butt of all the jokes no doubt. (See pics).

Those of you who missed my original post with Blue's backstory can find it here.

We have received over 100 donations so far between GoFundMe and Venmo and are now half way to our goal of $8,500.00 towards her medical bills. If you would like to still donate or donate again, see the link below or you can Venmo me directly @John-Derry-2

Blue has a long recovery process ahead including six to eight weeks of restricted activity to keep her from injuring her newly reconstructed hip joint and to allow her front leg fractures to heal properly. Your continued support and prayers are greatly appreciated.... Go Blue!

So great to hear. The love a dog gives to its family (and vice versa) is one of the purest, most unconditional forms of love there is on the face of the earth. One of my favorite parts of coming home from work (when I used to be in the office, anyway) was seeing my two big lugs waiting at the door for me, and one of them hopping right up into my lap as soon as I first sat down on the couch.

Dogs don't care if you're young, old, rich, poor, big house, small house, single, family, having a great day or the worst day of your life, absolutely none of that matters. Give them your heart, and they'll give you their's 100 times over. They'll always be there for you.
