OT: Ann Arbor hosting Oct. 15 2020 Presidential Debate [LOCKED]

Submitted by RHammer - SNRE 98 on October 11th, 2019 at 1:36 PM

this is simply a logistical heads up (not breaking the "no politics" rule) to note that MSU v UM is Oct. 10th, and this debate will be Oct 15th at Crisler - prestigious "get" for the University

also, Jane (as usual) is right: https://twitter.com/cjane87/status/1182701269460410370

MOD EDIT: Useful notice but went political

Making a calendar note right now to avoid Ann Arbor that week.

One of the candidates during the last time around had a rally in the city I was living in when I was in school and it was a circus. Traffic jammed, protestors and counter protestors blocking traffic. Can only imagine what chaos having a debate might bring to town.

Hillary “I’m not going to campaign in PA MI or WI bc they’re in the bag and I’m gonna go to TX and GA cuz fuck all common sense” Clinton.

I know no politics but the stupidity of that blunder crosses all party lines and all you can do is laugh lol

Ain't that true. Hillary blew that election big time. Calling half the population deplorable didn't work very well, either. The arrogance was breathtaking. She lost to Donald Trump. Almost impossible to imagine (at least before November 2016). I can't get that out of my mind.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with logistics and everything to do with politics. Call it what it is.

Either way, I assume parking at Pioneer will be about $200

Enlist the services of the Supreme Court Justices to referee.  Put zebra outfits on the Justices and have them hold up numbered signs that rank responses.

Media timeouts can be programmed in between question.  Red hat will control the tempo.

That's going to be a crazy amount of traffic and disruption around town.

What's the logistical part of the football game? The game is at MSU. And there's no home game the next weekend either (10/17), so there's a home game gap from 10/3 to 10/24.

I assume they'll ask each candidate about the QB position and why it sucks.  And yes, that's a year out and will not be Patterson, but it's sort of an evergreen question around these parts.

Pretty impressed by the blog so far. Nobody is fucking everything up. I think everybody is just tired of the bullshit

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the obvious likelihood that if the presumed Republican candidate is nominated that this debate won't actually happen.
