Is anyone else surprised by this? I thought for sure it'd be Rick.

Jim made it clear after yesterday's game 1 that it would be Rick's last start of the season, so I'm not surprised by his absence in the rotation.

I see, but Figaro was the last person on my mind. I guess D-train is done for the year.

Hopefully D-Train is done for his career as a Tiger. I have never been so disappointed in an acquisition since Aubrey Huff.
....oh wait.

Huff has at least had a few clutch hits, what about Washburn? The guy has been terrible, and his contract is up so its not like we have any chance of a return on our investment next year. We gave up a promising young lefty for this guy.

Scary thought. Hopefully we win tomorrow.

With +3 and 4 to go you have to be feeling good. We're clicking on a lot of cylinders so I can't question Leyland here.

mmmm clinching the al central tomorrow

Hopefully they win tomorrow and clinch so Verlander can get Sunday off. Detroit needs him rested for Game 1 vs the Yankees. Verlander has that fire in his eye this season.

Brandon Inge just said in his postgame commentary that "This was the closest to a playoff game that I've ever played in." I guess he blocked out the '06 playoffs?

i was going to make a funny about his 2006 postseason numbers related to your comment but when i looked it up he actually played decent, minus the yankees series. he was the last out though in the world series, i think...

Yea, Wainwright struck him out on like 4 pitches. My dad called in like game 3 that Inge was gonna strike out to end the series so I found that funny (and horribly sickening as I had to watch my best friend from St. Louis drink champagne)

He probably meant closest regular season game he's had to a playoff one in terms of atmosphere and importance.

if we clinched the central vs. garcia when last year the sox clinched it in part by beating garcia when he played for us... heh. but yeah, porcello is pitching better than jackson at this point, and he can't pitch on 3 days' rest after going 110+.

win today, and saturday becomes Irrelevant.
