Non-Harbaugh football news - Khamari anderson committing tomorrow and Joel Honingford back for 6th year
He's the brother of current Michigan OL Raheem Anderson. Have to think that timing is associated with Harbaugh hiring. Likely a TE, but could also be a DE. I think his positional flexibility would mean that should he pick the wolverines, they're likely still going to pursue 1 more TE.
It's awesome to see him back as he became more of a part of the blocking scheme that helped create lanes for the RBs last year. Have to think though that this likely means one of the younger TE may transfer since they'll have all 3 senior TEs from last year blocking playing time and 2 more younger TEs from the 2022 class to compete with.

Have to imagine that Will Johnson is feeling pretty good about his commitment now

I like the Andersons.
On the TEs, consider that this is most likely the last year of All and Schoonmaker. That's probably three TEs walking out the door at the end of '22. Hibner can subtract the COVID year from his eligibility clock if need be and Hansen just got here. It's not clear to me why they'd fear either '22 recruit.

Anyone have a current scholarship count?

I currently have us sitting at 89 scholarships. Hibner will have an interesting decision if he wants to wait one more year for playing time. He’s a rising Junior who hasn’t seen the field yet but next year all 3 TEs ahead of him will be gone. If he holds off the younger guys he’s presumably getting a bunch of PT as a 5th and 6th year player. We still have a few 3rd and 4th year players that haven’t played yet that may look to move on. So we’ll see how it plays out.

Let’s just erase the time from December 31st at 7:30pm-February 2nd 7:30pm from our memory.
If we do that, all is well (that thankfully erases the NW, MSU and Neb basketball games from memory as well)

I do not believe 6th year seniors count towards the 85 scholarship limit, but that has been in flux

Yes they do. You can get an extra year, but you still have to be at 85.

Any word or gut feelings on Conerly?
Have to imagine Harbaugh coming back certainly helps.

Helps sure, but I’ll believe it when he signs.

Having Joel back for a 6th year will be huge for our running game. Throw 20 pounds on him and let him Meeesh

Honigford's reaction upon learning they want him to switch back to OL from TE.

I get the feeling Honigford is well liked within the program. Could be a great program guy / depth piece for next year. He may be competing for the third TE spot on the depth chart w/ Hibner. Either way, love to get him back.
