Last week, I (along with many other Michigan fans I imagine) nominated Carl Hageln for a star, and he was named one of the top 3 for the week.

This week I chose to nominate Shawn Hunwick, both for his game-saving Friday night performance, as well as his shutout on Saturday.

Most importantly I nominated Hunwick for being a great teammate. Officially, Hunwick's shutout does not count in the record books because with a few minutes left in the game he asked Red to put Hogan in.

These are the types of things that make me proud to be a Michigan fan and alum far more than any banners, championships, wins, etc.

Between Kampfer's comeback and MSU retribution last season, Louie's V-day style, and Hunwick's love for his teammates, I am really proud of the teams that Red has put together.

No matter what happens the rest of this season, these guys deserve our gratitude.

Nominated.  Every time I think Hunwick has reached his peak as a goalie and as a sportsman, he finds a way to do something more.  Shawn Hunwick is a legend, and the legend is still being written.
