Nick Sheridan

Have we seen enough of Nick Sheridan yet? RR seems to have a hard on for the guy but he clearly struggles come game time.

Sheridan's just a college kid who's trying his best. They put him in late in the game, down 18 points, in crappy weather. It's not exactly a recipe for success. Instead of talking about Sheridan, let's instead talk about how good Threet looked.

that was the guy in front of me at the Utah game

i watched some of the game again and I didn't realize Threet was out hurt. but in all fairness to Sheridan, his first int was just a little high, may have even skipped off Butler's helmet. looked pretty catchable to me and  would have been a TD. so he had a good first drive, mainly due to a long pass to Babb. but even that pass was thrown a little high and short, kind of a 30 or 40 yard jump ball. the last int was a floater into double coverage

Seriously, down 18, in a monsoon, and his 3rd game. Sherridan didn't have any type of Clausen hype. Don't expect the world from him He went in and played hard.

Nothing went right for UM in that game. He didn't lose the game.

I'm sure in a year or 2, he'll be a great back up to Forcier.

Sheridan made a bad decision on the long INT.  The INT by Butler is a number of small things going against the play. On the whole, he looked better than he did in game 1.

He moved the team down the field.  sca1zi's point about Sheridan being a servicable back-up is probably accurate and a decent outcome for us for a player who came in as a walk-on.

sca1zi - what about Threet?  Are you predicting he'll transfer?

I'm sure Sheridan's a great kid, but he just doesn't have the ability to be a D-I QB.  All the experience in the world (which he won't get from here on out, anyway) won't change that.

... he'll be a 9th year jr somewhere. As far as Sheridan goes... how many snaps has this kid actually taken? And you can predict his future on 30 or less snaps? Yes, right now, his passing is scary as hell. He's young. I wouldn't pass judgement until next year.
