New in-state offer: 2025 DE Xavier Newsom
Detroit (MI) MLK defensive end/outside linebacker Xavier "Tree" Newsom got his first offer from Michigan. He's a 6'5", 210 lb. kid in the 2025 class. There's obviously still a long way to go until the 2025 class signs.
So far Michigan has offered a few in-state kids for 2025, including Groves OT Avery Gach, Cass Tech DB Alex Graham, Belleville QB Bryce Underwood, and Howell DT Bobby Kanka.

The entire Metro Detroit Jewish community is kvelling over Avery Gach. Probably need to go back quite a few years (to maybe Hayden Epstein) to find a Jewish football player who's made an impact on Michigan...let alone even across the country. We are known neither for our size nor our athleticism.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping that Avery Gach was somehow related to legendary basketball disaster factory Both Gach.

"We are known neither for our size nor our athleticism."
That wasn't always the case, at least at Michigan—All-Americans Benny Friedman (top) and Harry Newman (bottom)

You just had to use the word "kvelling", didn't you? Ha!

Hank Greenberg comes to mind for baseball.

Don’t forget David Greene from Scranton, Pa. He had good School Ties.

Apparently former Boston College star and one-time UM commit A.J. Dillon is Jewish, so UM just missed out on that. The fact he wound up at a Catholic college is pretty funny.

Israeli special operations troops are mind-blowingly known for their size and athleticism.

I heard he specializes in Latke pancaking.

Yeah, there aren't many Jabrill Leibermans or Rashan Goldbergs signing with Michigan these days for some reason.

This is such a shitty generalization…like so many generalizations. Ali Marpet, the Schwartz brothers, Gabe Carimi, and Josh Rosen are some names that come to mind. All big folks. All have made an “impact” in football.
