Need feedback on test video file for MGoVideo

Submitted by karpodiem on

So I had a bit of time on my hands this evening and was playing around with some video I recorded last weekend on ABC in HD.

I compressed the video to a new resolution, 1024x576, up from 960x544 that I posted for the MGoVideo Fall preview. I need some feedback on it though; does anyone have a computer in the 1.6-2.0GHz range with 1GB of ram to test how it plays back? Hopefully it doesn't stutter.

If you need a program to play the file back with, try VLC. You can download it here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Here's the file to test playback: http://www.filemojo.com/020984794208008/1024_encode.mp4

Karpo I was gonna try it out for you but it won't download for me. Nothing happens when I click the download icon. If you have Twitter look me up with suggestions.

intel centrino duo @ 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM viewed with Quicktime version 7.5 Tested video 5 times; sometimes it plays fine, sometimes it plays okay up to midway of video before video freezes with audio continuing to play. Video becomes a slideshow until the end of the video.

Thanks for the feedback guys. To be honest, I have an irrational crush on the 1024x576 resolution. I think I've decided that's the resolution I'm going to release the .mp4 version in. For those of you with playback issues, I would recommend downloading the widescreen DVD version. I'll be releasing in both formats this Fall.

I recorded the Yankees vs. Sox game today on Fox in HD. Just for fun I'll post both the 1024x576 and Widescreen DVD version for you guys to check out and test. I'll post a reply when it's ready. Go Blue!
