NCAA FCS football playoffs set for April-May
Some FCS teams are playing in the spring. Some in the Fall. The NCAA FCS playoffs will be from April 18 to May 15.

You are on fire today! So many board posts that I can't keep up. Are you on the payroll now as a breaking news reporter?

The article above was about the B1G. But in that article...
"By playing nine games in as many weeks, there's a student-athlete welfare issue in there somewhere."
Give me a friggen break. Bye weeks were not that common before 12 game seasons became the norm. Heck, we started later than everyone else in 1997 and played 11 straight weeks. That turned out pretty well.

As I understand it, the break wasn't for student-athlete welfare generally, but 14 days off for potential quarantine issues. However, the mandatory 21-days off after a positive test makes that moot.

I don't know who in FCS is playing this fall, but certainly a weird spot to be in if you're a playoff contender playing now. You'll have a 4-5 month break presumably between the end of your regular season and the playoffs

Plus, do you lose players to other things? A job. NFL prep. Starting the rest of their lives.

This is a joke. The teams in the playoffs stand to have lost all their best players to NFL prep.

The lesser divisions in CFB show what level of concern the NCAA has for student athletes (they are the real ones, BTW) when there aren’t buckets of money involved. Apart from the ridiculous nature of a playoff when most FCS teams have cancelled their seasons, there is no consideration of health issues incurred be playing deep in the spring and then in the fall.
