Please refrain from making any comments and put the appropriate comments in another thread regarding the "so-called controversy." This post is meant to be informative and to show people what the NCAA rules are, and what the exceptions are. I'm sure most people have not read the NCAA stuff. http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/4166bf804e1d371bae25be9565dafefc/Ch… http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/43c919804e1d371bae28be9565dafefc/Ag… http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/44fa46804e1d371bae2bbe9565dafefc/Pr…

Also relevant for the persons who can't sleep over this: http://www.ncaa.org/wps/ncaa?key=/ncaa/ncaa/ncaa+news/ncaa+news+online/… A few years ago, San Diego State had a few infractions turned in against them including too much countable time. They got 2 years probation. They also profited off selling video tape of a practice session, which makes their situation a little bit different. (HT: @SmartFootball)

i might be wrong, but i think you're basically at the point of one more screw up and you're getting the hammer. like alabama was on probation for a while then they had the textbook selling thing and they lost games from their records (which is a truly laughable punishment)

They use the SD State program as the 'closest example' to Michigan's situation, but, in fact, it doesn't appear to come close at all. Michigan has essentially been accused of 2 violations. 1) Working more than 4 hrs on Sundays, and 2) quality control people at summer voluntary sessions. SD State was charged with allegations of overworking players in addition to multiple more serious violations. The reason why there isn't a close similar situation handled by the NCAA is because the NCAA turns its back to EVERY PROGRAM doing this kind of stuff.

It is only a story because we have never had a hint of scandal at Michigan. A non issue like this has gained life because like to see the mighty fall. Fuck y'all if you doubt me I'm a piece of fucking Michigan trash, i say it proudly And fuck this battle I don't wanna win I'm outtie Here tell these people something they don't know about me. --Eminem (mostly)
