NCAA 14 Rosters
We are almost done with the rosters just got a few more teams to update. For those of you that play the game I really dumped a stupid amount of time into Michigan!
Our roster page that is updated almost daily
I tried to compile our depth chart best that I could and I am also considering putting our defense back to a 4-3 since we ran that 3-3-5 setup against UF.
NCAA 13 version of our rosters
Also this is for people who play NCAA 13 more specifically Wolverine Devotee who asked me for them. I finally found a guy who does the porting and he has updated it at least 2 times now that I know of.
My Sliders
Here is the link for my sliders I think they make the game feel like new! You can actually throw the deep ball with them and it's fun going up with our bigger WR's! The actual slider setup is at the end of the video I was going to talk on there but got caught up in other stuff.
On a side note
my little girl said she wanted to go see some singer named Jo Jo so I told her she better go make some money so this was her idea lol. Clever enough for me. She wanted to me share it with the sites I go on so I obliged

Michigan Teambuilder
Also I have started working on a Teambuilder team for Michigan and this is what I got the uniforms to look like. I can only get 1 jumpman tho unless I give up the M logo which I do no not want to do
Hope you guys enjoy because I love the way these guys play in real life and on the game. I told everybody we were going to be waaay faster per player this year and I think we all seen that in the UF game. Enjoy guys and Go Blue!

This is amazing, but why is Hurst so low?
September 6th, 2017 at 1:03 PM ^
We use a scale and try to stick to it as best we can. In my heart I believe Hurst is our best player period and have been considering switching his rating with Rashan’s since Rashan has not done much on the field as of yet. We try sticking to our scale though so it keeps things fair and stop people from overrating their favorite teams and so on.
September 6th, 2017 at 1:53 PM ^
Still going to have 99s across the board for Michigan...and all 40 players for MSU aside from the 99 overall 7'-0" 415 lb do it all Runningback/MLB/Punt returner/Kick returner BJ Cummings.
September 6th, 2017 at 2:02 PM ^
Definitely appreciate your work on this. This was something I did in my younger days with just Michigan but it's nice having all the teams refreshed.
September 6th, 2017 at 2:16 PM ^
Yes I have a scale for speed, agility/acceleration, and verticals. I did have some of our RB's faster but when I compared them to their 40 times that were laser timed I had to lower them some. The one thing I noticed about all our HB's is they are not that fast but they are really quick.
I thought about raising Rashan's speed up to what it said he ran this spring it's just hard for me to believe that Rashan ran a faster time than any of our HB's lol.
September 6th, 2017 at 4:22 PM ^
he did.
September 6th, 2017 at 4:17 PM ^
YEAH LOUIS WHY IS HURST SO LOW?
September 6th, 2017 at 4:28 PM ^
Hey man it's not my fault he didn't make more All American lists. That's why everybody has the ability to change anything they want on the file. I love Michigan just as much as you guys do but some people would rather have a 99 overall for every player lol. While that may be fun to see it's not very realistic.

So the people will know what we're talking about, I've been advising Louis all offseason and constantly been giving him crap for the Mo Hurst rating. Mo himself even got in on it (while we were interviewing him for HTTV).
Something to keep in mind about these rosters is they don't use Pro Football Focus or UFR or Draftageddon because nobody but us and PFF realy get into that kind of player analysis and they have to do the whole country. So raw stats and lazy All-American lists will be over-represented. I understand why they hold to their standards but I also gave Louis epic crap all summer because it's frustrating when something as factually evidenced as "Mo Hurst is the best DT in the country" isn't represented.
That said, I'm still epically grateful to these guys for keeping my favorite game alive. If life relaxes on me a bit I'd love to tweak these rosters and make a special MGoBlog version available that, for example, doesn't rate Mike Weber and Justin Jackson over Rodney Smith.

I think there is a fine line between what’s considered fair and what’s not. Our system may not be perfect but it is the fairest way to rate players. We rate them by their production and lists that are both certified and some that are not. The problem is when we are fans of teams we begin to admire and love the players we cheer for and when this happens we sometimes we lose focus of the facts. Mo Hurst is a monster no question about it! I am sad that he was not mentioned more out of the 5 lists we used. Mo was never mentioned as a preseason candidate by any of the official All American polls. He made 2nd team on Athlon and 3rd team on Phil Steele I believe. After this season is over assuming all goes well I certainly believe he will easily be a 2nd or 3rd to All American maybe even a 1st teamer. I think he is a better player than Rashan right now in his career and that’s by a wide margin for me. The problem is when we start rating players with our hearts we lose legitimacy to me. There is at least 9 people on Michigan’s roster that I know is better than their rating or at least that’s how I feel. Because I feel that though doesn’t necessarily make it the truth. PFF is just another source as well as all the other that Seth mentioned. Unless it’s the word of God I think anything is open for scrutiny.
Also there is nothing lazy about the amount of effort that I put into my teams lol I promise you that! I literally have spent over 30 hours on Michigan this year easy! I know from the outside looking in it seems like a simple process but it’s really not. When you have so many people who are so passionate about their teams even something as simple as a video game really matters. I think Michigan’s rating on the game is damn near perfect for the question marks that we have. I also think we have at least 4 players on defense that will likely end up being either a All American or All Conference player by the end of the season.
I hope you guys enjoy these because I really do dump my heart into them when I do them. Enjoy guys and Go Blue!

Thanks for putting in the time to update these. Every ~6 months I get a hankerin' for some dynasty mode and really appreciate having updated rosters. Wish someone else would take the college football torch from EA.
September 6th, 2017 at 1:09 PM ^
No problem man. We actually update them a lot more than every 6 months. I would love to hear your guys feedback on the way the game plays. Also I made this slider set and so far people have loved it. Only thing I would say is turn the USER and CPU interceptions down to 55 for dynasty.

There is no way that I can get any of the previous NCAA's on PS4, correct?
September 6th, 2017 at 2:17 PM ^
as of right now not you cannot play this on the PS4. It would be awesome if you could though!
September 6th, 2017 at 2:26 PM ^
Hurts my soul a bit that I can't even play '14 on my PS4......
September 6th, 2017 at 1:00 PM ^
September 6th, 2017 at 1:05 PM ^
SportsGamer1 said he is going to do 1 for every team lol. Not sure if he is going to stick to that but I can for sure get you a dynasty file from him. I also think he put the playoffs in them too but not 100% sure on that 1.

Once I finish the teambuilder for Michigan I will post it on here for you guys to download. To asnwer your question you have to type in my gamertag to download the teams.

If anyone plays on playstation I'd love to get a head-to-head game with you. I believe you can find as GMill42.

One day there will be a very good book written on the phenomenon that is NCAA '14 video game culture. Thanks to you and others who do the legwork to keep the game fun each year.
My copy was damaged two years ago and I haven't been able to bring myself to spend $50+ on a used one. Madden never sates my video game football hunger pains so I might have to just pull the trigger..
September 6th, 2017 at 2:21 PM ^
There is no need to spend $50 on the game. You can go online to the playstation store and get NCAA 14 for $20 I believe. Also if you buy a game online you get 2 copies of it. So if you have more than 1 PS3 you can put your gamertag on both and download the game to both of your systems.
September 6th, 2017 at 2:24 PM ^
This just get updated? I downloaded last night and was disappointed to not see Dylan McCaffrey. Great job on these btw!
September 6th, 2017 at 2:34 PM ^
Ya did my final update for Michigan last night. I will update them again around the middle of the season so I can raise players overalls that I know are better than their current rating.
September 6th, 2017 at 2:35 PM ^
September 6th, 2017 at 2:39 PM ^
I seriously hope that Joe Milton is a EE because I cannot wait to add that kid to the roster for next year! His arm is ridiculous!

September 6th, 2017 at 2:33 PM ^
So for xbox it is dericksun ??
And for PS3 it is BossHawgMichigan ?
Both identical?
Thanks for this. I don't play but my son does on xbox (and he LOVED it when we updated rosters last year...)
[update: just saw post above that clarified that yet, they're identical. Thanks again]
September 6th, 2017 at 2:36 PM ^
Ya Dericksun is the only person we have doing 360 updates as of now. He ports our work from the PS3 over to the 360. The PS3 version changes almost daily the latest file will always be on page 1.
This years rosters are by far the best I have played with so far. I really like the sliders I made with em too it makes the game waaay harder. Had a guy test a game against Cal and he lost by 50 plus points lol. The game is harder with them but it's also more fun.
September 8th, 2017 at 6:24 PM ^
Okay so we JUST downloaded dericksun's roster on my kid's 360. It's such an irrational RUSH to play with the actual names.
Thanks!
But I didn't see where the optimal slider settings are (if any)?
Thanks, again!

I have not finished the team yet. I still gotta update some more in game teams 1st so the file will be complete. Once I do I will let everybody know.
September 6th, 2017 at 3:01 PM ^
awesome work. I've been using half-finished rosters for a couple months now. I wish teambuilder was easier to use in dynasty mode. You can swap out OG Michigan for a Teambuilder Michigan, but it screws up the schedule and moves OSU game to mid-season. Unacceptable!
I have also been too lazy to go back and update our roster based on what we saw Saturday, so thank you again for doing the leg work. You da man! #NCAA14FOREVER
September 6th, 2017 at 4:09 PM ^
Thank you, BossHawg!
I downloaded the rosters for PS3 last week and wondered if you might be an mgoblog lurker given the name of the roster file. Love it.
September 6th, 2017 at 4:33 PM ^
Lol somebody feels left out. Thanks Seth for helping me with the depth chart it is appreciated. Although you have fallen off on your depth chart info here lately but the stories are still good lol. I watched the UF game to compile the rest of the depth chart. I wish Harbaugh would release the official roster a little sooner and just 1 depth chart to start the season.
September 6th, 2017 at 4:40 PM ^
So did Florida and look what happened to them!
September 6th, 2017 at 4:42 PM ^
obliteration lol
September 7th, 2017 at 8:20 AM ^
Submarine, man. There was very little trickling out this offseason that didn't get reported. The OT situation played out in the public. The 3-3-5...well I did tell you about that but you really do have to make your own 4-2-5/3-3-5 playbook to play as Don Brown and we knew that going in.
