It could certainly be worse. I don't mind seeing us ranked B or B+ after the past two years.
I'll take that.
Ohio State A+ offense on the other hand...
One thing that sticks out at first glance is that Penn State has an "A" offense despite their QB problem? That puts them at a top-5 offense in the nation.... don't see it happening even if Royster wins the Heisman.
They have Newsome rated ridiculously high. High 80's I believe. As a RS Freshman.
As it stands, that probably makes the "top 10 players needed to be cranked down" for EA sports.
These are all averages of all the positions, so take them lightly. An A for Penn State on offense probably means their WR's, RB's and Oline are good, their Qb's being the weak link in the offense.
Yes, but Wisconsin has better wide receivers, a better line, a better quarterback, and an almost equal back to Penn State, and they are an A-. That A is whack
I would take Clay over Royster any day of the week. Dude was unstoppable last year.
I probably would take Clay, too. It is certianly debatable, though
Not sure what the numbers or personnel are actually like, but make sure you take into consideration O-line, WR and RB depth.
This is true. I don't know how EA weighs depth in comparison to starters, but Penn State probably has the edge, especially with their stellar incoming recruiting class
As far as I can recall, PSU's RB depth was pretty good last year in the game. So it figures they'll boost those numbers. Not sure abt Wisky...never played as them.
Notre Dame with the same offensive grade...hmmm...Not sure I agree with that one.
1. Iowa having an A- offense is just silly
2. I feel as though we should have a B+ offense and a C defense. B seems a bit high.
3. Stanford's A- offense seems a bit generous considering they just lost the Heisman runner-up at runningback.
4. I am glad I don't have their jobs, because douches like me will criticize no matter how good the rankings are.
They certainly have some Luck on their side.
edit: if you did work for EA, you could make Mike Shaw actually fast, and have Denard's dilithium in the game perhaps
I feel like the dilithium is there. He is the fastest QB of the game I know of, and his acceleration is 96 (ridiculous!). I played as Pryor in the demo to see what it was like, and he was pretty damn unstoppable running. Denard will be plenty fast, so don't be concerned about that. He has more speed and acceleration than most players period.
Am I not reading that right with no rankings for Alabama?
No Air Force either.
This is not a completed version as I said when I posted the ratings in the NCAA '11 Rosters Out Diary....
So there are only 6 teams that have a better ranked defense than offense.
There are actually 10 by my count:
Army, Central Michigan, Miami (NTM), Mississippi State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Northwestern, San Jose State, Tennessee, and UCF.
Here are all ratings: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football/420351-ncaa-football-11-video-preliminary-dynasty-team-ratings.html
Michigan with 89 O and 86 D, MSU with 89 O and 85 D. Bama has 99 O and 99 D.
How do these overall grades make any sense?
School – Overall – Offense – Defense
Army D+, C, C+ (D+ huh? special teams must be made up of recovering alcoholics)
Boston College B, B+, B+ (Two B+'s do not equal three)
Navy C+, B, C+ (Must have a lot of defensive players)
Ole Miss B, B+, B+ (same as BC)
TCU B+, A, B+ (who cares about offense factoring into the overall rating?)
Virginia Tech B+, A, B+ (same as TCU)
Wake Forest B-, B, B (same as BC / Ole Miss)
Either EA is trying to educate us on the new math, needs to go back to the drawing board, or these rankings are a little premature.
From what I read over on another forum EA is suppose to be redoing Alabama because they made them to good. Either way I played with Florida the other day in the demo and they seemed wayyyyy to fast on Offense.
