My promise made, my promise kept
On September 6, 2014 I offered up a watch party at my house for the Notre Dame game.
One person (Blacksox?) showed up and we lost 31-0 on route to a miserable 5-7 season.
This was, for those who remember, the "eat a lemon" season. The only thing I could think to do at halftime that would make the actual game seem better was to eat a lemon, rind, seeds, and all, and chase it with Everclear. A photo of that bottle of Everclear with a winged helmet has been my avatar ever since.
Last week I promised to change it if we won out. We did. The photo has now been replaced with one of my never-worn, still-has-tags, 1997 Championship cap.
And I hope to NEVER, ever want to eat a lemon again to make a Michigan football game seem better.
Here's to happier avatars, Team 144, 15-0, and a season for the ages!

Well done!
On the bright side - at least you didnt have to "pucker up" for this lemon...

Holy crap. I forgot about the lemon eating days! Like some weird mgo ice bucket challenge with some of our beloved posters eating lemons. Lol. Took a little sting out of some bad football.

I honestly think the worst part of the video is piping on the jerseys. My goodness, I had blocked that from my mind!

I still wear the jersey, including last night. I've never since eaten a lemon or done a shot of Everclear.
That speaks to my opinion of which is worse. FAR worse :)
