MS Paint - Shawn Hunwick

Submitted by Timnotep on

In honor of his 40 saves against UND (Man he was clutch) I decided to put my current projects (Tim Hardaway Jr. and Josh Furman) on hold to make an ode to Hunwick.

Sorry it's really big. Anyway Happy Birthday Hunwick, hopefully he'll finish the day with the best birthday present I'm sure he could ask for. Go Blue!

Kid played exceptional and he was amazing throughout this tourney. Curious as how his legacy will be thought of from here. Personally, his emergence through two playoffs and his story has made him a favorite of mine and I wish the best going forward.

We all know Hunwick is made of small and tiny, but at this point, he's got to be drafted in later rounds on a team willing to take a chance, doesn't he?

That isn't how it works. He's small and tiny, and he's 24. Guys rarely get drafter later than 19/20 years old. He'll finish his career and hopefully get a shot in the ECHL, maybe the AHL if he is lucky, and doesn't decide to go into the business/real world after. He's a hell of a goalie with a lot of heart. Never say never.

I fear he will always associate this tournament with losing in OT in the Final. He played unreal and deserves everything we are saying about him. The team had 9 penalties or more, that loses games, he killed it.

Enough Said. Congrats on dominating, I will always remember his play in this event. Same way I remember Montoya getting beaten from zero angle a few years back (I associate Montoya with Tony Meola, and his near post mistake in the 1994 world cup).
