Moderator Action Sticky

Submitted by Brian on

This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.

NOTE II: New Thread started.

I know.

On one hand I'm like "okay, if it was anybody but the 'shoe doing this I'd be like *yoink* and "To the MGoBoard with you, vile copy-paste."

On the other hand I'm like "but that's what the shoe do."

My feeling on the matter right now is that, as you currently put these together, they're not Diaries. If you can provide information beyond the linked material, that would make it Diarrific. Maybe break down the highlights as you have, then pull some information to support the things written, or make a comparison with that and the current team. I'd like other mods to weigh in.

OT, and the comments got inappropriate rather quickly. C'mon guys, can we at least make an effort to be a little less skeezy than MLive?

This is not thread-worthy content.

OP has been a repeat offender lately, and is temporarily relieved of the privilege of starting new threads.

Possibly the worst thread ever. Also, with a username like "pee on freep" something tells me it's going to be a loooooooong time before this dude is remotely mature enough to have the privilege of creating threads. MGoPoints adjusted accordingly.

No, and maybe I should have been more informational. Drew Sharp is a specific no-no, because he writes columns about Michigan for the specific purpose of ticking off Michigan fans and making us want to tell our friends "look what this idiot wrote." If you take away the major metropolitan newspaper and just look at the content of his articles, he's basically just a troll. The standing policy of this blog is that Drew Sharp has zero to offer in discussion, and furthermore is a menace because the whole point of his articles is to write something so outrageously stupid that fans will feel the need to call attention to it and fisk, just like a troll. As far as we are concerned on this blog, anything written by Drew Sharp has zero value by nature of it being written by Drew Sharp, thus a fisking is just a lot of unnecessary ANGAR.

Ticket sticky.

Also removed thread-making level of mgopoints, since the user basically said "I know there's a sticky thread, but I don't care because I'm a unique and special snowflake."

I really don't think there's any need at all to be such a dick in this sticky.  In my opinion, just say the thread, and say something like "OT" or something to that extent.  It seems like almost all of your posts in here are akin to this, absolutely degrading the poster.  I'm sorry (and I'm sure this will be deleted), but this kind of thing, along with Brian's disrespectful Haiku about Obi Ezeh really speaks poorly to this great site.

It's really easy to determine whether something is thread-worthy or not. If you can't pull it off, you get a little mocking in the moderator action sticky thread. Nothing is intended to be mean-spirited (unless obviously so, and usually those are accompanied by mgopoint dockings).

Tim:

First off thank you for directing me here.  I didn't know this existed and it's very helpful.  Secondly, maybe I'm too old but I still don't quite understand the pull decision.  Not that this is going to make or break my day, I just truly don't understand I don't want to run afoul of a rule I dont know exists.

Thank you - don

To answer the OP's queation as to why the thread was deleted, it's not the original topic (which, while a bit tired at this point - given that Brandon has addressed RR's job security 100x this season - is appropriate) that caused it, it was the mean-spirited nature of the follow-up comments.
