Minick police report: "he almost fell on his face,"
http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2015/06/police_report_michigans_jim_mi.html
While going through sobriety tests on the westbound side of Airport Blvd., Minick could not walk a straight line and had trouble keeping balance. At one point, when Minick bent over to tie his shoe, "he almost fell on his face," according to the report.
"I had to hold him up so he didn't fall and hurt himself," Cole's report reads. "Minick advised he couldn't do the test sober. The test was stopped for Minick's safety."
At St. Joseph Hospital, Minick was repeatedly told to peacefully sit on a stretcher for his blood test, but continued to ask to use the restroom. Instead, he "continued to refuse lawful orders." He was ultimately "forcibly" pushed down onto the stretcher after security was called to assist.
Aside from everything else, if a guy has to piss let him piss, it's not going to effect the blood test. Instead they make it a power struggle that results in use of force by the sounds of this.

What is the problem? This is a new article with new details pertinent to what has already been discussed here. This is news. I didn't make the news.
He pled guilty. Move on. This will just turn into a 150 comment thread about drunk driving.
You want him fired because in your opinion he sets a bad example. You've obviously never made a mistake and don't believe in a 2nd chance. If only we could have had this conversation in one of the other 5 threads about this topic since the arrest. Drunk driving is bad, people make mistakes, but they shouldn't always lose their job. Move on.
You're strawmanning the shit out of this. It's acceptable to find out more about his DUI and be extremely disappointed in university action.
I'm taking into account what happened and am moving on. So should you. You obviously have a huge bug up your ass about this if you have a need to reply to nearly every comment. Let it go.
The pov being pushed is offensive as someone who very much likes to drink and is responsible also
Well, there's your problem. Worrying about what RCMB posts about Michigan is about like worrying that the crazy cat lady down the street might be just crazy enough to get another cat.
So we should immediately fire Harbaugh too since he has one. If he does something else against the law, he'll be let go. In his entire life, he hasn't had any other convictions before and you want him fired?
Do you have the same stance with respect to our current head football coach?
He got a second chance by not going to jail for illegal, irresponsible actions that endangered people's lives. I don't know why people always want to categorize these things as "making a mistake". He knew exactly what he was doing and has almost certainly done it many times.
This guy was plastered. The real second chance he got was when he was lucky enough not to have hurt or killed someone. He should feel very fortunate for not having to live with that.
There's a huge difference between a mistake that could have been tragic in severe magnitude vs a mistake such as a misplaced office report.
I didn't know hypothetical mistakes were worse than clerical errors. But hey, at least you have grown up a bit and have stopped calling people "terrible human beings!" Big things ahead for you.
Smoke and mirror this all you like.... the way you defended this man on this board speaks volumes about your own character. If you want to use this board as a way to measure how grown up someone is, you fall seriously short of your own expectations.
Now stop being such a judgemental asshole. Please show me how I defend him. I have defended his right to a trial. He pled guilty, and will serve his punishment. I don't believe he should lose his job, that's it. But yeah, I'm the one who isn't grown up. Please tell me how I can be more like you.
Pot calling the kettle much?
For the fact you keep making post after post that this guy 's mistake as no big deal just makes you look like you are defending him and how much DUI is perfectly ok with you. Did you have one or your buddy have one and it just pisses you off because you feel that you or he got the shaft? You talk about how everyone should give it a rest, maybe you need to take your own advice. However seeing as you like to give it without practicing what you preach, my guess you'll keep trying to get the last word in. It's also quite amsuing that there are people who have said far worse on here but you seem to conveniently overlook their comments but vindictively come after mine like a 14 year old girl who feels wronged by a stranger on the internet. Sorry that I hurt your feelings but anyone who is so cavalier in attitude about something that could ruin someone's life forever is a miserable human being to put it nicely...especially when I have seen it first hand tear families apart. You certainly are proving me correct given your most recent response. Please take your toys and go home.

LOL, thanks for the laugh. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones. ;)
The new details don't really provide any relevant information. We know he drove intoxicated. We know he pled guilty. We know he was sentenced.
Reporting that he almost fell on his face only provides further embarassment for Minick and keeps a negative story around for no reason.
Michigan Men also help little old ladies across the street.
You don't make the news, but you upvote your own posts.
It was already big news with hundreds of posts, all of them pontificating and speculating about how bad this was or wasn't and what it should mean regarding his position & in how these kinds of things will be and should be handled. I'm not taking a particular position on that, but finding out more difinitively the extent of how he behaved or lied or not changes the picture that people were basing their opinions on.
That makes it as relevant as all the previous posts on the subject outside of any opinions that thought drinking and driving is not our concern no matter how bad it was or that any degree of drinking and driving at all should cause for banishment, and I doubt there were very many of either of those extremes, otherwise the circumstances and degree of things does matter in determining policies or practices and expectations.
I'm sorry you can't distinguish between the validity of this news vs every random tidbit of inconsequential news.

Dude is obviously lucky enough to have an incredible job.
Also, It's hard to tell everyone of your players to behave and not make an ass out of yourself and then turn around and get stumbling f*cked up. Get in your car. Refuse breathalyzer. Then need security to hold you down to get your blood draw that you tested Super drunk for. OUCH.
I'm guessing this wasn't his first time out partying tho.
Here's to hoping he figures it out......

Or, maybe he can turn this into a huge teaching moment for the kids. If he stays sober and makes a commitment to being a role model, he can teach kids how making one mistake doesn't necessarily destroy your future.
I'm cool with that as long as he also makes clear in that teaching moment how easily his mistake could have destroyed not only his future but that of others as well.
Not trying to be difficult but you have to call it what it is. The message really being sent here, and what a lot of kids will take away based on their own life experiences, is that if you have money and connections it won't necessarily destroy your future. Otherwise you could end up going to jail and lose your career/job.
This is relevant. It's a bit salacious, but if we are going to see multiple posts about which multi-billion dollar company will be providing apparel for UM's teams, a new report outlining how a current coach getting plastered and driving seems at least semi-relevant.
UM and its football coaches/team isn't perfect; I don't think this is news to most people. And so while I'm not for posting every detail as a new post, I didn't seen this level of detail about his state when he was pulled over.
he should be gone
