Michigan vs. Northwestern a 3:30 Kickoff
Hopefully many Chicago alum/fans show up (like myself) for this late afternoon kick:
Michigan vs. Northwestern (Saturday, November 8) has been selected for a 3:30 p.m. kick on ESPN2.

I miss noon kickoffs

I don't. Those are the worst. Well, I prefer games against rivals in their stadiums to be at noon, but other than those, noon games suck.

I love how Gibbons sets up like he has time to walk out his steps and then decided he better just run backwards at an angle a few yards.

would be more appropriate for this game.

I'll be there. Got a friend (and fellow U-M alum) in Chicago so we figured it's a good excuse to get together. Michigan football might be a dumpster fire right now, but it's OUR dumpster fire.

I'm in the same boat. Going regardless of how bad it is. Going to pick up some burgers at Edzo's and tailgate.

The post-game buff joes stop is clutch.

Hard to pass up a weekend in Chicago

...at one point. But now, I'm going to save my money.

Strangely enough, I am beginning to find that as my kids start getting a little older and the early end of Saturday becomes filled with more and more activity, the 3:30 PM starts have begun to work a little better for me if I have to watch the game at home. Still, part of me likes the noon start, especially on early and mid-autumn days.

My wife and I are flying up from Orlando for the game, and our parents are taking the train in from Ann Arbor. It will be a great weekend in Chicago regardless of the onfield results. I'm glad to hear that it's a 3:30 start. More time to tailgate. Are there any bars near the stadium for pregame festivities?
October 27th, 2014 at 12:34 PM ^
and there are a few not too far of the city, but close to the stadium you may be picking from a small pool. I hear the downtown area in Chicago has a few bars...

Within walking distance from the stadium and it's usually packed. You are better off going out in downtown Evanston and taking a free shuttle to the game/back.

The El is the best way to go. The red line to the purple line to right next to the stadium. $2.25 per ride and you can tailgate anywhere

We have taken the train up from Wrigleyville, then set up with a bunch of cases of Old Style out on the golf course. Not the most elaborate tailgate, but it works!

Was planning on posting a thread on this next week, but wanted to let you know that I will once again be hosting a fundraiser for the UM-NU game at the Bar Louie in Evanston. Through my philantrhopic venture, Cause & Affect, this will be our third time hosting a tailgate at Bar Louie when UM is in town.
Doors will open at 11:00 AM and, despite this being a tough season, the event will be a blast. We've had around 200+ people pack the bar the last two fundraisers with 99% of the crowd in Maize & Blue. Former players have stopped by in the past as well (Ryan Van Bergen & David Molk last year!). With the game bound to be on the chilly side, it's a great way to hang out with M fans and stay out of the cold!
Feel free to message me with any questions and/or if you need tickets (we also have a big seating block with tickets still available) at [email protected].
- Time: 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Location: Bar Louie | 1520 Sherman Ave | Evanston
- Community Cause: Proceeds from the optional at-the-door donations will support two amazing local, educational causes -- from pre-elementary to college. We will once again award another senior at Muchin College Prep headed to a B1G university in the fall of 2015, as well as provide to support a family in need and help their child attend VOCEL (early headstart programming)

Let me go out on a limb and predict this won't be a tough ticket.

This is going to be a trap game for NU. They have ND the following week.
