Michigan Monday Is Up
Not the best Michigan Monday, but I always get a kick out of them, nonetheless.

I'm surprised that he wrote one after a bye week

It wasnt bad IMO. Had this gem:
Michigan’s defense was a schoolyard bully who accidentally let a kid get a good shot in on him, so as retribution the Wolverine defense gave Rutgers a swirlie in every downstairs bathroom at school.
I mean it was Rutgers for God's sake. What did you expect, 11 Swans?

I'm very pleased to see he denoted Rutger as a rivalry game. Critical analysis.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:33 PM ^
Rutgers is a side salad. Mmm...steak
November 12th, 2018 at 10:34 PM ^
He admits that Michigan didn’t bring its A game to Rutgers and he didn’t bring his A game to this weeks Michigan Monday.
November 13th, 2018 at 9:24 AM ^
Maybe it's semantics, but it seemed to me that he didn't so much "admit" it as made it the conceit of the column.
November 12th, 2018 at 10:39 PM ^
I thought it better than last week's. Last week was, for me at least, a boring recap of a fairly exciting curb stomping of PSU. The write up for what was a boring game against Rutger seemed to challenge the writer a bit more, thus I found it much more amusing.

They have all been pretty lame this year, IME.

Because we are good.
When we are good, he switches from snarky joke fest to actual coverage of what went on . . . because now it matters.
He doesn't find things so funny then and he loses his entertainment touch a little bit.

Check out all the Michigan Monday’s for this season. He has greatly changed his outlook and analyst conclusions for our coach and our team during this season.
November 12th, 2018 at 11:35 PM ^
I think after Michigan State he had to admit to eating his words from September.
November 12th, 2018 at 11:10 PM ^
Michigan Monday will be so delightful to read after we pancake their asses in columbus.
November 13th, 2018 at 12:02 AM ^
He probably won't write one, but I know somebody who will definitely do a UFR!
November 13th, 2018 at 11:41 AM ^
I'll gladly make that trade.
November 12th, 2018 at 11:30 PM ^
He, like me, seems to expect a Maize and Blue victory.
November 13th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
Was it the may God have mercy on our souls part?
November 13th, 2018 at 5:51 AM ^
I actually really enjoyed this satire, especially since it was about our biggest rival!
November 13th, 2018 at 5:52 AM ^
Always a few good ones in there that make me laugh. Even though it was a pretty vanilla game, it is worth the read.
November 13th, 2018 at 6:07 AM ^
Why do you guys read this drivel. This article was just terrible, must have been written by a Osu slappy lol

That was my reaction when I read this:
"Pacheco rushed for 142 yards on 16 carries, and in so doing he proved that anybody can run against this defense."
November 13th, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
I hope someone on the Michigan staff finds that quote and brings it to the attention of Don Brown and the Michigan defense. Everyone has been heaping praise on Michigan's defense a little extra hate fuel could be a good thing to add to the tank.
November 13th, 2018 at 9:15 AM ^
the following sentence is "Or maybe he just got lucky."
i read it being /s
November 13th, 2018 at 9:59 AM ^
I'd prefer he not even put that out in the universe. It was one bad read against and underwhelming foe by a defense that has been stellar all year long.
November 13th, 2018 at 7:11 AM ^
Actually enjoyed reading this but didn’t quite understand the last sentence. “May God have mercy...”. Sounds like we are going into the OSU game like we are some kind of lamb waiting for the slaughter. I know we have to beat OSU and the refs but this year it just feels different.
November 13th, 2018 at 7:23 AM ^
Well he's an osu writer so he's clearly referring to osu when he says "our souls."
November 13th, 2018 at 8:18 AM ^
I hope so! 8~)
November 13th, 2018 at 7:21 AM ^
"I think this week’s Michigan Monday was pretty unnecessary, and it probably showed. It’s like trying to tell somebody about your side salad while they can see their steak being brought out of the kitchen."
I actually chuckled at this edition of Michigan Monday because he's right, we didn't even need to be at our best to win comfortably.

Comparing the writing at that site with MgoBlog is like tasting the difference between box wine and a nice Jordan Cabernet.
Man, we’re spoiled here.
November 13th, 2018 at 8:54 AM ^
I rather enjoy Tony's writing. That said, he did reference ordering a steak at Frisch's, so, you may be on to something.
November 13th, 2018 at 10:11 AM ^
Ahem, we drink Woodson Cab around these parts...
November 13th, 2018 at 8:55 AM ^
Yeah, remarkable how the complexion on the faces of MSU and OSU fans dramatically changes once Michigan finally fields a team with an upright, bones intact quarterback for the first time since 2011 and just an average, run-of-the-mill BIG10 offensive line.
Once Ohio State finishes with Maryland and Michigan is done with Indiana, it is Game Week.
And may God have mercy on our souls.
Stages of Grief setting in.
They are slowly starting to get what the future holds.

Good for a laugh or two during the workday as usual.
The swirlie comment for one. Also that Rutgers defense is where offenses go to feel good about themselves. :-)
