Michigan Little League Comeback Win over Texas
Michigan took advantage of a two-out grand slam in the second inning to cut a 5-0 deficit to 5-4, and held Texas scoreless for the rest of the game in earning a 6-5 win. Quite a resilient crew. I believe it was an elimination game, so Michigan lives moves on to the next round (?).

This was a BOSS win. They went down 2-0 on the top of the first, then a long rain delay. 2nd inning it was 5-0. They could have totally given up. I hope they go all the way!

Choke on that Pure Michigan D!

It wasn't an elimination game.
But it was beneficial for MI to win. If they had lost, they would have needed to win 4 in a row to reach Sunday's one-game Championship final. Instead, their path to Sunday is now either of the following:
(1) Win Wednesday and then again Saturday.
(2) Lose Wednesday, then play on Thursday and win, and then win again Saturday.
A loss on either Thursday or Saturday (assuming no rain-outs and schedule re-shuffling) eliminates them from Championship contention.

Do they have teams from all over the world this year?
August 23rd, 2021 at 11:07 PM ^
Sort of. 15 teams from America and 1 team from the country of Ohio.

It’s usually 8 US teams and 8 international teams. This year both the regional winner and runner up made it since it’s only US teams. The Michigan team won their regional though so they would have made it in any year. The Ohio team benefited though as they typically would have not.

The rules were changed to benefit Ohio?

Those kids showing that you CAN mess with Texas!

The slogan doesn’t mean absence of defeat in a fair contest. It means being a good steward of the state (not littering, murdering, etc.)

Don't mess with Texas...and we won't litter or murder? That's almost the Golden Rule.

I’m simply saying that slogan doesn’t mean never losing. I fail to see the angst in the accurate clarification.

We learned this winter, Don't mess with Texas. Unless you have 3-5 inches of snow, then you can totally fuck Texas up.

It wasn’t the snow. Simply the freezing temps caused the failure.

I happened to catch the last few innings of their regional win over Ohio, who they absolutely smoked. I thought: They might have a chance.
Then in the first round they beat Florida something like 8-0. Now Texas. These are kids who play ball all year round. It's impressive. They look like a really talented team.

That was indeed a great win. They got behind big early, but it’s tough to count them out because they have a solid offense. 1-9 can all make contact and get on base. And today their best player hit the grand slam to make it 5-4 after being down 5 and then got the final out on the mound with back-to-back 71 mph heaters.
Their relief pitcher really stepped up too by holding Texas at 5. His control wasn’t perfect, but that kid has a knee buckling breaking ball. I don’t remember having to face anything quite that good at that age.

Huge win!! Michigan won the Great Lakes region and was in no matter what. Those bastards from Ohio benefited from the modified format. I believe this gives Michigan another day off as they have yet to lose. Ohio has one loss and one more sends them home.

The Michigan team is one of 4 unbeaten teams remaining.

The two upcoming Wednesday games between the four unbeatens should be very interesting.
Both Michigan and Hawaii can score runs and I don’t think neither of them has faced an offense as good as each other yet.
And California has put up huge wins while nobody has been able to touch South Dakota’s pitching. That’s going to be the real power vs power matchup, especially if that dominant lefty is pitching again for SD.

Go, Michigan!
I've lived in six states, and spent at least 2 months in half a dozen more, but high school & college in Michigan tugs my allegiance there. For instance, born in Nebraska, I root for Hastings, Nebraska, but against Michigan's team, it's no contest.
