Michigan Illinois open thread
Anyone else getting ready to crack open a cold one? I've got mine chilling at the moment; I hate the law in Indiana about grocery stores not legally being able to sell cold beer. It really sucks.
Oh and, of course, fuck Illinois. Being from there, I know way too many people from high school that would love rubbing it in if they pulled one off tonight. Let's not give them that option.
Just got a new job and my pre-employment drug screen is tomorrow :( I know it'll most likely pass through my system by then but why chance it. I'm sure you'll drink one for me though :)
Your drug screen tests for alcohol? Are you sure about that?
Or is the mint in his julep not really mint?
Employers care if you have some alcohol in your blood now? My God that is awful.
I'm lucky enough to have one of those employers who gives you beer at work every couple of weeks for morale boosting purposes. A little alcohol never hurt anyone.
Oh, I just read the super long form thouroughly...no they are only testing for THC, COC, PCP, OPI, and AMP (I assume thats marijane, cocaine, pcp, opiates and amphetamines)...and its only a urine same and no breathe alcohol test...guess I was just being overcautios.
TYPICALLY, prospective employers only care if you are doing something illegal. Now I know some that test for nicotine and won't hire smokers for health cost reasons, but I'd never heard of one testing for alcohol before. Now you can enjoy the game!
Last time I went through a drug test (MEPS, so full on military drug testing) they did a separate breathalyzer. I don't know if you can even test for alcohol through urine, since it's already filtered through your kidneys. Maybe that's wrong though, there's a reason I'm not a biologist.
after it took place. I'm not sure what or how, but they use it to test people on probation, court ordered rehab, etc.
Just don't show up smelling like alcohol and you're fine.
And away from the mgoMrs. and kids so hell yeah I'm cracking them open. Bought 2 40's on the way back to the hotel and am ready to go. No Edward 40 hands though, my 32 year old bladder can't hold it like it did a decade ago.......plus I'm by myself so that would just be wierd.......
It's pretty simple:
- Start off naked
- Finish one bottle. If you have to pee just pee in the open bottle
- Don't forget which bottle has the pee in it
Sitting nude by myself in a hotel room playing Edward 40 hand sounds like the beginning of a future episode of Intervention.......I think I'll pass
megangoblue is gone for the entire week, as of this afternoon. Left home alone, it's Fat Tire and frozen California Pizza Kitchen tonight, along with some M basketball of course.
Awesome! I was wondering when this was going to pop up!
Don't settle for jump shots, take it to the basket. Hopefully we get a big early lead, and Illinois will give up. Don't want them hanging around and gaining hope.
I agree, I would LOVE to see Hardaway START the game by driving to the hole hard and early. He does it so well and it can give him the confidence to shoot outside once his defender lets up a bit.
We haven't won in that dungeon of an arena since 1995 - our longest road losing streak. Time to end it.
I remember recently thinking we were going to win, but then that gumpy 7'1'' guy got extremely hot from behind the arc. I'm drawing a blank on his name. Really made me mad.
I remember the guy but I can't remember his name either, thought it was Leonard but it isn't.
Illinois always has a big white guy that shoots jumpers. It's in their program's DNA. Some years the guy has a moustache.
he definitely fits the gumpy white guy profile....
I guess Jalen is calling the game on ESPN. Should be interesting.
Hopefully I'll get that on ESPN3.
Is he going to be a homer, professional/neutral, or will he be extra critical of us so he doesn't seem like a homer?
I get the feeling that he might be extra critical so he doesn't seem like a homer. He might want to build up some credibility with the "national" audience before he starts calling games like a homer.
I have no idea how Jay Bilas started his broadcast career, but he has let personal decisions affect how he calls games.
Firstrow links to sports center. Anyone got a better link?
SportsCenter literally just ended, I'd take a look at that link again.
You're from Illinois, JGB. Give us three good reasons why you hate the Illini.
but I can't name names on MGoBlog. Seriously, I think my ex who's a future Ohio alum put it just right for Illinois; she went to visit friends in Chambana over fall break her freshman year at Ohio, and was telling me how shocked she was at the Muck Fichigan shirts. She's like, "I know I'm not perfect with my Michigan history, but you guys don't care, do you?"
If that's still selling T-shirts the forces of postmodernism need to step up their game in Champaign and bring reality to the student body. I think that's cute, personally.
It was Michigan week 2009*, if that makes you think any better of their tastes (it shouldn't).
*so it was actually her sophomore year, my bad.
And the perfect time to end the losing streak (didn't know it dated back so far back, wow), makes for a nice night for Michigan victory. Wonder who Jalen's with...About to find out I suppose, tip of time ladies and gentleman! Go Blue.
on the line nuff' said right? Go Bue and keep you 13 game winning streak going back to last season following a loss.
STUUUUUUUUUUUU
That's the first "frustration foul" to ever happen 48 seconds into a game.
ARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
Morgan with the slam!
The rims sounds really stiff. I wonder if that is normal or not.
NonononoYES!
Hardaway with the 3!
NonononononononononoYESSSSSSS Hardaway!
Come on Zach!
Bullshit!
bad call either a charge or a no call
you never had control of that break, and Illinois was back. Slow it down.
I was hoping he was going to get rid of the ball faster.
THJ made a threeeee
