Michigan golf cart, third attempt (edit pics included)

Submitted by uofmdds96 on

I purchased a golf cart last year to use at the marina.  The original colors were burnt orange with gray flames.  A few people questioned my choice since this was too close to scarlet and gray.  I bought it on price, not paint.  The idea was to have it repainted this winter.  After telling my painter what I had envisioned, he got to work.  I told him that I wanted the front to be the helmet and some striping down the side.  He could use some creative license as he saw fit.  He was unable to do anything to the top other that having someone digitally print out a graphic for $11/square foot.  I did not elect to do that.

As you can see, he added some text from "Hail to the Victors" and split block M.  I am not crazy about the split M,  but I do see the humor in being against the Brandon edict.  Future changes will be having the seats redone, but I have not approached a vinyl guy yet.  The cart also has underbody lights and I am thinking of adding a horn, but would obviously like to find one with our fight song,  or better yet, the music school grads' rendition posted last week.

Constructive comments welcomed.  The cart has rain on it so better pics in the sun are warranted.   GO BLUE!  (I shouldn't try to do this in between patients)

I had to buy a new one for the yacht because the hovercraft at my mansion was not transportable by my Bell412EPI and my Lambo does not have a hitch.  I typed that sentence not thinking of the repurcussions.  Forgive me for my transgression.

Then again, Darker Blue finds it bragging that I list my profession and graduation date as my screen name.  Have mercy. Jeesh.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

Michigan golfcart = loch ness monster. Sounds great, has anyone really seen it?

I don't know why, but the failure of the OP and this whole thread really has made me smile and laugh, something I needed. No downvotes, just happiness. Hope the mystery golf cart gets posted sometime. And even if it doesn't, I'm good, and enjoyed the laugh.

UofMDDS96, I don't know your Internet chops, in terms of pics and movies and editing, etc. While I know there are people worse than me, I am not a pro at saving and converting pictures, using MS Paint, and all the other bells and whistles. For instance, sometimes, I'd love to know how to create a clip of just the right video. But to find the original movie, get the right sequence lined up, formatted, saved, and then pasted into MGoBlog, is something I don't have the time or inclination to figure out.

Regarding the cart I see you finally got it figured out. I think it was amusing for me (and at least a few others) who struggle with getting the right thing posted in the right format. And the front certainly looks great. I'm with you on feelin the back is ok, but not quite right yet.

What service are you using to post the photos? You'll have to upload them to something shareable first, like Photobucket (what I use, but there are many services) and then post the appropriate HTML, which those sites will auto-generate. When you do that, make sure you switch the comment box to plain text mode first.

Neighborhood socializing.  Kiddos have friends that sit in a golf cart trailer and the parties we have in the neighborhood seem to align with driving only golf carts and not cars.  :)
