Lacrosse opens at # 8 Penn State at 1 pm. The Wolverines are looking to get a few wins this year as they build their program.

that we will improve every year.  We may not have the tradition of the east coast schools. However with Michigan being only a handful of schools that recruits alone regardless of the sport; top recruits will come to Michigan instead of powerhouses like Duke, Syracuse, ND and MD.  Our overall college life is equal or better than any of these schools.

why will recruits pick UM over Duke and Syracuse? If these kids want to win titles, for at least the next 5-10 years they have a far better chance of doing that at Cuse or Duke. Further, Duke has a helluva academic reputation, on par if not better than UM.

I'm a UM alum and grew up playing lax and would love to see UM dominate the sport, but it's gonna take some time to get there.

So far, only in the smallest of trickles.  Really, it'll be a while before the powerhouses (in which I wouldn't include Notre Dame) consider Michigan a real recruiting threat.

In the event that anyone was not aware, Michigan did win its sole exhibition game last Saturday against Marquette by a score of 18-9. I believe men's lacrosse plays Fairfield on the day of the football Spring Game and in the stadium to boot, so hopefully people make a day of cheering on the Wolverines on April 5th.
