Men's BBall Q - tix at UCLA

Submitted by DowntownLJB on

I'll be in the LA area for work the week of December 5, so I am seriously considering staying on for the game on Saturday 12/10.  It looks like there are some tickets available on ticketmaster in a variety of sections.  Can any of our CA MGoFans offer any suggestions about Pauley Pavilion or tell me if there's an LA alum group organizing sitting in a section together etc.?

Thanks for the help!

Hey, I've never been to a game at Pauley, but moved out here recently and have a pair of tickets in 225.  I remember seeing a Michigan basketball post (facebook or twitter, i don't remember) that advertised having extra tickets, and they were in an adjacent section - I believe 226 and 201.  No formal organization as far as I know, but I'm sure there will be a decent representation at least in the upper bowl!

LA, OC and SD purchased a block of 100 in adjacent sections (226 and 201) and sold them at cost but it looks like those are sold out: https://umalumni.force.com/eventapi__simple_event?id=a1Q1a000000tWf9EAE

The UM Club of LA is hosting a pre-game "tailgate" at Q's Billiard Club in West LA.  I don't think there will be any perks for people not included in the above block of tickets other than possible drink specials and hanging with other Wolverines.

Very helpful - thank you!  I'll make a note of the pre-game location & see what's available in those sections on ticketmaster.  I am pretty sure that's the general area where I was looking earlier, as I think those sections are behind the visitors bench in the upper level.

Q's is great for games. Nice turnout.

Q's is the official westside gamewatch partner, so you're with 200 other cheering Wolverines and the Victors is playing after each M score.  I would call that a far better atmosphere...for M games (and the other 200 fans must agree).

But yeah, the food and beer selection is arguably better at Bru Haus if you like vaguely german hipster menu revolving around sausages and german and belgian beer (which I do, but it's more niche than the general, albeit mediocre bar food at Q's).

You're spectacularly uninformed. Hipster German? Sausage centric? Oh brother. Methinks you need another visit. I'll put it to you simply, it's a Wisconsin rally bar, and I'd still rather eat and drink there (as I did amongst the the enemy last Saturday) than at Qs home of flat beer from rusty pipes and microwaved everything. But I might be able to understand the attraction for someone looking for skeeps light.

I got mine awhie ago, but it appears there are still a bunch available, and the prices are all face value. Pauley is pretty small, so there aren't really any horrible seats. I don't know about any blocks of tickets resserved for UM folk. It's more fun to be in enemy territory anyway.

I got my tickets yesterday at Ticketmaster. The main UCLA ticket box office won't sell individual tickets until November and the alumni club tickets in sec 201 and 226 were sold out very quickly, priced at $ 69 and $ 49. I got tickets in section 101 above the Michigan bench.

I wasn't aware the women's team is playing UCLA the next day on 12/11 at Pauley Pavilion....no assigned seats, ...at only $8.00 per ticket.

it kind of sucks to watch a game there (although they have tried to make this a little better with their recent renovations). That said, I have sat with the Michigan clubs up in the rafters behind one of the baskets and it was nice to be around Wolverines, but the seats were not great. If you go, you will be happier to purchase seats on stubhub closer to the floor. Plus there are so many Michigan fans (and conversely so many apathetic UCLA fans), that you can probably score some nice seats and still be surrounded by your brethren.

You want to be in lower bowl. Ticket master over priced. My buddy is a UCLA booster and will help buy blocks if tickets. He got me four behind MI bench at 50% of tickets master price. Rather see $ go directly to school without giving huge cut to ticketmaster. And renovated Pauley still sucks. But it's central on campus with good parking, so...
