130+ helmets have been whittled down to 16. UM is, of course, one of the eight 1-seeds and is facing 3-seed UNC.
Let's make sure this ends the right way.
A win for UM could set up a matchup against Staee in the next round. OSU is in the other half of the bracket.

With just 19 hours left in the poll. Michigan's Winged Helmet only has a razor-thin 51%-to-49% lead.
I'm just glad we're not competing against Delaware.

The first two words of the headline are redundant. And I really don’t care if any other people share my love of the winged helmet.
That UNC alternative helmet. Wow. I mean if it wasn't a fucking foot I might think we'd have a problem here. But gee whiz. As long as there isn't enormous engagement from some roving band of Twitter foot fetishists, I think we'll be ok.

My opinion on helmets is this: there are ultimately 2 tiers:
1) cool helmets
2) helmets where they just lazily stamp the team logo on the side
Michigan is in tier one, as are Notre Dame, Penn State, etc. from CFB, or the Rams, Vikings, and others from the NFL. Everyone else - I'm not a fan. Anybody can stamp a logo on the flat side surface of a helmet, and I think it's lazy and unoriginal design.
Michigan's are the best of tier one - T1A perhaps. But I appreciate any team that is willing to be more creative or unique than "logo stamped on the side."
I've always felt the exact same way. Even Bama with the numbers is cooler than a logo slapped on the side - more timeless. I would add a tier or two. Tier1A is cool helmets like Michigan and the Rams. Tier1B is classic style helmets like Bama and Penn State. Tier 2 is script style like Ole Miss or Maryland. Tier 3 is logos on the side. Tier 4 is anything with matte paint. Tier 5 is the christmas bulb/twix wrapper/beetleborgs reflective colors. Tier 6 is the brown bucknut helmet, the deepest core of uniform hell.
History doesn't concern itself with mere tomfoolery (spoken as Thor). The answer is known and always has been. What hast thou laid before us?
