Great coach. I hope he wins a national championship before he's done. The guy deserves it.

Seeing Beilein smile after a big win os one of the best sites in the world. Would love to see his smile after a NC win.

Absolutely. The guy has made a career of winning the right way. I would put his understanding of "Xs and Os" up there with any coach. In fact so many of his wins have been BECAUSE of his strategic advantage because he often had inferior talent.
The guy has survived a plane crash, honored Austin Hatch's scholarship and formed a bond with him. He is just an all around excellent guy.
I really hope we name the court after him when he retires. We knocked it out of the park when we hired him.

Naming the court after him, NC or not, seems like a great idea.

Totally agree - great guy all around and can coach with the best (while keeping a clean program).
We don’t see the ‘Fire Beilein’ threads like we used to thankfully.

At this point, the NCAA should just automatically give him a 10 point lead in every game he plays, just in recognition of him doing it the right way in a cesspool of scum.

13-0 Just keep winning. Go Blue!!!
December 30th, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
it must be a pretty hard thing to do I guess
Very hard. Not only is it just the second time in Beilein's tenure, it's one of only a handful of times we've ever done it. Before 2012-13, the last time had been 1985-86. It means winning 10+ games in a row, which is never a simple task.
Out of about 350 Division I teams, only four are undefeated. We're one of them.

Aah, basketball season.
December 30th, 2018 at 3:38 PM ^
Every other time we’ve done that, we’ve come away with either a conference regular season title or a Final Four appearance IIRC. Hope that trend continues.

When your team is competing at a nationally competitive level nearly every year - you have an elite program. Congrats to this team on an incredible start.

34-5 in the 2018 calendar year.
Losses were to Purdue (twice in wild games), Nebraska and NW on the road (Neb was after an awful stretch of B1G scheduling) and in the championship game to an excellent Villanova team. Pretty good.

Glad they won out! The Big Ten this year is tough. Looking forward to hard fought close games. Although I am also hoping for Michigan wins via blowout for my old ticker.

OP is too casual about this accomplishment. This is much more difficult than, say, winning three or four non-conference games in football. With the advent of holiday tournaments filled with highly-ranked teams and inter-conference "challenges" (the B1G does two of these), going undefeated before conference play in basketball is becoming quite rare.
December 30th, 2018 at 4:23 PM ^
Yeah, the OP feels like a backhanded compliment ("only second time under JB").
December 30th, 2018 at 4:26 PM ^
Not to mention that it includes two conference games.
December 30th, 2018 at 4:37 PM ^
This is true and makes their 13-0 record that much more impressive. Those two Big Ten games would probably instead be against a couple of baby seals.

BEST COACH AT MICHIGAN among the men’s teams.
December 30th, 2018 at 4:21 PM ^
Only 4 more undefeated teams Michigan Virginia Houston and Nevada. Just keep winning and fuck dook
December 30th, 2018 at 5:02 PM ^
....and it was fun to watch, if a bit stressful now and again. I half-jokingly said to myself that this team needs to play 2-3 times a week for a bit, but we're going to get that with the conference schedule just days away now.
December 30th, 2018 at 5:37 PM ^
Only playing four games over the past month seems like it's really messed with the team's rhythm. The more consistent schedule of the conference slate should be a benefit.

Guy is amazing..

A coach who WINS championships, banners and trophies unlike some other overpaid coaches..This man produces results

There are guys who talk and guys who walk. Beilein walks. Should name the bball gym after him when he retires.
