MBB Recruiting/Robby Carmody - 2018 ESPN #47 'Visit Exceeded Expectations'
Seems like JB has some recruiting momentum going!

To be fair, if you ask a kid "Did the visit exceed expectations?" and he says "It exceeded my expectations," that isn't necessarily meaningful. When it comes to gauging his interest, I'd be more curious to know his reaction to not receiving an offer and where he places UM among the other schools he's considering.
Obviously kids tell you things off record that may not go in a published work. That said, I'd say Robby has serious interest in UM. He's one of the few kids that enjoys UM's more deliberate approach to recruiting, where a lack of 'the love' is not a bad thing.
Cool, that's interesting.
When he gets offered, do you think he would commit quickly?
But I do think UM is a serious contender. Style of play, proximity to home, relationship with the staff - all of those factors bode well for UM.
Thanks for the info.
But planning a second visit is meaningful.
he isn't from Detroit - no toughness, don't want.
(Edit: I put this in as sarcasm and look at the post right below me. It never fails.)
Immediately knew it was a white guy.
is about to get a little larger.
that at -10,000 you get a windbreaker and a coffee mug. He's in it to win it.
was a offered a one way trip to Columbus with a lay over in East Lansing. I respectfully declined.
The only thing about that is that the windbreaker is made from a sheer material that doesn't really insulate all that well. We definitely recommend extra blankets if you intend to wear it in unfavorable conditions for any length of time. The coffee mug is fine - the second round of production doesn't create that foul-smelling gas when you actually put coffee in the mug.
If you listen to Dan Patrick, that is an ongoing schtick when discussing the draft "experts" descriptions of XYZ player.
But he's right--the recruit/draft analyers definitely have their racial cliches that they go back to over and over and over again.
but he's 'well spoken'. /s

I wouldn't read much into the order in which things happen. Recruits are busy. Coaches are busy. As long as everyone is communicating well about plans and expectations, there's no problem.
That is just wildly untrue. Recruits visit all the time with no offer.

I guess they want to watch him live, but that seems like it would create an awkward dynamic on the visit.
Of course we all get a little excited when a highly recruited kid comes to Ann Arbor and has a POSITIVE experience. I'm finally learning to temper that excitement since the majority of these kids don't end up here. Unless a kid comes here numerous times and calls us his leader or starts talking about education and a certain type of degree, it's all nice but not that meaningful. On another note, Harbaugh and staff are on fire!
