Martin, Molk, Hemingway receive combine invitations
Just saw the update on WN. Mike Martin, David Molk, and Junior Hemingway have all received invitations to attend the NFL Combine in Indy, February 22-28. The complete list of invitees is found here.
Congratulations to them, but a bummer that Koger and RVB didn't receive invites.

Really sad to see Koger did not get an invite. I think he has a lot of potential in the NFL.

RVB and Koger will end up on someone's NFL roster, I'm absolutely sure RVB will have a long NFL career in someone's rotation regardless of where he's drafted

After RVB's production this year, I really thought he would see some scouting love. He still might, but not going to the combine really hurts.

The problem with RVB is that he is a tweener...too slow to be a DE and not big enough to be a DT. I think he will find a spot on a roster somewhere though. I was just really shocked with Koger's skill set that he did not get the invite.

If he fits in anywhere, I'd guess a DE in a 3-4 so that he can play 2-gap, which I think plays to his strengths.

Unfortunately it's sort of a catch 22 type problem for some guys. Bledsoe and the NFL scouts make recommendations on who they want to see there. So if you havent already caught somebody's eye during the 12 games you played it's unlikely they will invite you to the combine to show your stuff.
I guess I'm more of a glass half-full guy as I'm thrilled Junior got invited - wasn't sure that was going to happen at all. Here's the link if you want to see how they decide:

Weirdly, Junior has a higher draft grade (according to ESPN) than Molk does, probably cause of Molk's size???
ESPN NFL Draft Grades
Mike Martin gets a 67
JuniorHemingway 48
David Molk 45

So what are we putting the over/under at for Molk and Martin on the bench? I believe 49 reps is the current record.

Which was set by another of our own, though his name is escaping me atm. Will Johnson?

You got it, Will Johnson is the guy. I believe it was tied by someone, OL from oregon state or something? I know this is googlable in mere seconds, but google has killed the fun of the bar trivia debate.

this link (http://mvictors.com/?p=2969), he put up 47 at our Pro Day and Paea has the combine record at 49 (set last year)

I'm also surprised to see RVB and Koger not get invited, hopefully they tear it up at the pro day.

Is the reason RVB didn't get invited perhaps because of his injury? Maybe he isn't physically able to participate in it.

I think Molk is in pretty bad shape as well. I read somewhere that he will only be able to participate in some of the drills because of his foot injury in the Sugar Bowl.

I'm really happy Hemmingway received an invite, but I have to say what everyone is thinking, about our TE that's missing the combine.
Steve Watson is a good guy, and should have been invited.

One would have thought that with Pats' Hernandez/Gronk blowing up and potentially changing how NFL offenses are drawn up, there'd be an emphasis on athletic TE's for this year's draft. Let's hope for big pro days at the U.
