Mario Manningham signs with NY Giants
I am surprised that this hasn't been posted yet - Mario Manningham signed a one-year contract to return to the NY Giants. Mario had a solid first few seasons with NY, and with Nicks departing, he could see a good number of targets. Here's hoping that Mario returns from his injury and has continued success in the NFL.
Secondary NFL / Michigan topic - has anyone heard anything about Braylon making a return to the league? I haven't seen anything, but I find it hard to believe that he can't land a one-year deal at the league minimum somewhere. Just curious if there is anything out these on this.
Hasn't Braylon pretty much been on 1yr show-me contracts and been cut from each place he's signed? I think at this point he's a person you call towards the end of the season when you need to fill a hole.

Braylon is my all-time favorite Wolverine, but he is done. The guy just can't seem to handle the NFL for whatever reason.
I can't fathom how a guy with his athletic gifts could be such a complete bust. For years, I attributed his lack of success to being a stretch-the-field wideout on teams with crappy QBs. Think of the number of great WRs who have gone to teams with poor QB play and done nothing - Larry Firtzgerald and Santonio Holmes are just two recent examples. I still think that this is part of it, but I also suspect that work ethic played a large part, as well.
Braylon would have been best served to go to a team with a strong QB and a disciplinarian coach - the NY Giants, for example, with Eli and Coughlin, would have been a better fit than the circus that is the Jets.
It sure seems like getting on LeBron's bad side was the beginning of the end for his pro career. It's been all downhill since that one incident when Braylon punched Lebron's friend (allegedly?), as little sense as that makes.
Because he had trouble catching the damn ball. It was a bit of a problem at U-M, but he could make up for it most times. I thought if he still had the dropsies in the NFL, it would be more of a problem for him, and it has been.
I was surprised he went #3 in the draft given his penchant for dropping balls
Went for well over 1000 yards and had 16 TD's...would have led the league if not for Randy Moss catching 23 from Brady that year. It's a shame he didn't have the focus to sustain that excellence (actually, that statement applies to both Moss and Edwards)
I searched again just to see if there was an update, but as I thought, there has been very little mention of Braylon Edwards past articles about places he has already been in the last few weeks or so. Granted, I may very have missed something, but all the same, it will be interesting to see if there is a team that would be willing to pick him up this coming season.
There are always a ton of teams that struggle with the salary cap, and teams always need a decent WR who can stretch the field. I see Braylon at a point in his "career" where he would likely have to accept the league minimum, so for a team with a need, he presents an option that has potential upside and very little downside.
Whatever happened to Adrian Arrington?
Signed from the practice squad, active a couple years I think, but had injury problems. He was finally cut from injured reserve.
Bummer. I remember he and Mannigham as a pretty good duo. I remember thinking that he would be the better NFL prospect.
Pretty much cut out Manningham's two years in S.F., but great to see him back with the Giants. Hope he's healthy enough to get playing time, but that one play in the Super Bowl made him extremely popular here. [The second video on the linked article has a postgame interview I've never seen. Eli, Coughlin & Manningham all complementing one another about that play. And both videos dissecting the perfection of Mario's catch.]
Went to visit a friend who lives up near their training camp Mario's rookie year just so I could watch him. Worth the trip. Jumping and shouting like a kid, playing to the crowd like a cheerleader. And this was just in early practice. Thrilled for him he's back.
I will always remember Henne to Manningham in the PSU game. Gave Joe Pa his only L that year.
As a Browns fan I have never gone from loving a Michigan player so much, and then hating him like I did with Braylon. I kept trying to defend him, but eventually my bias ran out, he just made one asshole mistake after another.
Ummm he's had a lot of off the field issues that make somene question his worth ethic and character. He's getting chances and blowing them. Rhodes just isn't getting signed.

Who do you think had a better/worse pro career? Braylon Edwards or David Terrell? Both were such a dissappointment with what they have done in Maize and Blue......
