Lloyd Carr to coach Syracuse?

Submitted by ToledoWolverine on

Take this for what its worth, but some local (albeit douchebag) radio guy in Toledo was singing songs of Lloyd being in line to coach the Orange next year. Supposedly he has been seen on campus at their last 2 home games. This is the first I have heard of anything along these lines so please go easy on me if this is yesterdays news. Lloyd prowling the sidelines in an orange sweater and getting shitty with reporters at halftime in the carrier dome would be strange to say the least. Do they still play in the carrier dome?

terday's news.  he's been on campus but there is no way he'd be a line coach, must less anything short of a head coach.  and consensus is he's just there consulting, no coaching.

and yes, it is the carrier dome still.

It would take years to rebuild Syracuse; I highly doubt that Carr would want to deal with that challenge at his age.  This is a rumor that needs to go away, because it will never happen.

he's still an associate AD with us. also, he left coaching b/c he didn't have the energy anymore. why would we want to spend 4-5 years rebuilding a program when he's got it made here?
