Lloyd Brady Travels South
I opened the Mississippi State website this morning and saw what appears to be a very happy Lloyd Brady pimping through campus.

With a state sweatshirt on? I hope his support isn't wavering also.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:33 AM ^
It looks as though he is being tempted to change his allegiance.

NEWEST UPDATE: Dee Hart is committing to Mississippi State and taking Lloyd Brady with him!
Dee Hart is really throwing us for a loop.

I heard he was only asking $120K so they jumped at it

"Sorry, couldn't pass up the money" -- but don't let the NCAA know I told you that.

Dude, you posted this this morning? Are you psychic?
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:30 AM ^
Looks more like PaulVB than Lloyd Brady. No lie.

Yes, sideburns and all
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:33 AM ^
What led you to visit said website?

I teach at Mississippi State and was in the process of logging in to enter term paper grades.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:39 AM ^
Was the topic for the term paper, 'describe how awesome lloyd brady', if so I want to sign up for your class
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:41 AM ^
How is it working at a public institution in the south?
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:55 AM ^
I love the university atmosphere. I am a full-time instructor (M. S. not Ph.D.). I am given a lot of autonomy. As long as I show up, teach my classes, and get positive reviews from the students, I don't get hassled by the administration.

I'm just curious as I decide on my career paths. I'm thinking about going into academia, but don't have a good idea about how Universities operate outside of the midwest/east coast

Hey, um, I know that the term paper was due a week ago, but I was wondering if I could, uh, have an, um, extension?
Thanks.

My boyfriend's great-aunt died three weeks ago and we have to travel to Missouri so he can choose one of her cats to bring home. He really needs my support at this time. I will be back in two weeks and will slip my paper under your office door. Thanks for your understand.
Some Student

I am assuming that this isn't that far off from one of the many lame excuses you've heard before regarding an extension on a paper.
December 3rd, 2010 at 9:04 AM ^
Some of the excuses are pretty lame.

My dog ate it, and then my science project ate my dog.

My science project ate my dog.
Best. Excuse. Ever.

Amazingly, in my 10 years of teaching undergraduates, about 80% of grandparents that have died have passed on either just before the midterm or just before the final. Strange coincidences.
December 3rd, 2010 at 9:25 AM ^
While GSI'ing at UM, one of my colleagues busted a student who had been using a dead sister as an excuse the entire semester.
She had been handing things in late all semester, using the emotional trauma of her family tragedy as her excuse. At the end of the semester, she creatively managed to plagarize the blue book final (one problem with students bringing their own blue books when they have the questions in advance) but had been found out through a simple google search. So F in the class, referral to the dean's office for academic sanctions, etc.
Parents, outraged, call the professor, and she says, "We're positive she plagarized the final, but I can kind of understand, given the tragedy your family has been through."
"Um, excuse me. What tragedy?"
End of parental objection.

then those girls are his sisters. Says so in the story linked to the photo.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:56 AM ^
I think Lloyd said they were his sisters so he would be allowed to stay in their dorm room.
December 3rd, 2010 at 9:30 AM ^
I heard Mr. Roper totally believed it to. That Lloyd is a genius.

Are they direct blood relatives? If not (step-sisters), then it might be legal in Mississippi.
(Sorry, couldn't resist)

When I moved south, my next door neighbor introduced me to her boyfriend. He was also her step-brother. When I enquired further I found out that they had been dating for five years. Her mother was widowed and, when his father divorced, their parents got together. They had been dated for two years when his father began dating her mother. The parents married after they had been together for three years. So they became step-siblings three years into their relationship. What sucked for them is they eventually broke up, but of course, continued to be step-siblings.

That's all. Just "wow."
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:37 AM ^
Ho. Ly. Shit.
I guess stereotypes have to come from somewhere.
December 3rd, 2010 at 9:16 AM ^
Probably not legal. Even in Mississippi.

Come to the south and two hot chicks are guaranteed.

says the professor??
December 3rd, 2010 at 9:23 AM ^
I am given a lot of autonomy
So that's what he meant...

That's University of Mississippi versus Mississippi State game or Egg Bowl this year in Oxford, MS. Swore I saw Lloyd Brady there in an MSU sweatshirt!
Obviously, Lloyd Brady was spying on the coeds at Mississippi State University disguised in proper undercover apparel, just as he has been known to do the same thing at another MSU (Michigan State University) scouting their coeds as well!
We Michigan student and alumni nerds always go undercover at other schools in search of hot coeds......Sneaky aren't we!

Can we get a photoshop on this dreary Friday morning?
