They are playing poorly. Same old Lions.
well that's just, like, your opinion, man
They are playing poorly. Same old Lions.
down by 7 heading into the 2nd quarter...same old Lions! When Will they replace Matt Millen? /S
FIRE RICH ROD!!!!!
Both sides of the ball are playing like crap. Same old Lions.
Did you watch last week?
and you cannot continue to start games like this.
How's that crow taste?
and best record for the lions
and best record for the lions
and best record for the lions
really sit the next couple plays out.
Millen will be replaced when Det. wins a SB.......!
But these aren't the same old Lions.
Brand new Lions. They don't roll over and die when they're down.
we're playing like butt right now. this is terrible.
i mean, nice stop at the goal line!
Backus has been called for a false start like 10 times already this year! WHY DID WE NOT DRAFT AN OFFENSIVE TACKLE.
Now a delay... this is getting ugly quickly.
We drafted a tackle last year, who is currently out with a foot injury. Starting NFL left tackles don't grow on trees, there's maybe one you can take per draft that is ready to play, and he'll usually be a top 3 pick. Everyone else needs a couple of years to develop.
Marcus McNeil is a ridiculous example. Save for his injuries he would certainly have been a first rounder. Plus, why is he name people know? Because stories like his are rare.
To that point, Jason Fox was projected to be a high second rounder until an injury late his senior year. If you feel pretty confident going into the off-season that your project will come along under the direction of a long-time (formerly mediocre, now bad) veteran, why draft someone that high? Then he gets injured in the summer and to the outside perspective it looks like you just ignored a need at LT.
Most of the tackles taken get plugged in on the right side and develop. Do some come in and end up world-beaters that get the start sure? But the bottom line is unless someone is a freak, you don't know if they'll be ready right away because they don't consistently face elite pass rushers and complex schemes at the college level. If you're drafting someone to play left tackle right away, you're making him essentially your franchise. And until this year with the rookie wage scale, you're paying him ridiculous money.
When Fairley and Leshoure get healthy people will be singing a different tune.
Reality is, they are still about 2 or 3 yrs away unless they can improve the OLine real fast. You still need to be able to run the ball and the lions cant. They are can still win 9-11 games this year but are going to have to win some shootouts.
ya, i agree about not being able to run the ball is really hurting us. the achilles injury to mikel leshoure really hurt us. but our corners are getting made look silly by tony romo right now. miles austin's backup is tearing us up.
My top needs for next year:
Wow, this team is garbage.
is the behavior of a poor team.
You're not one of THOSE people ,are you? The ones that start yapping about "same old Lions" if they don't play utterly flawless football for 60 minutes of regulation? You're drawing some pretty hasty conclusions from not even two quarters of one game.
the emarrassment is you
it seems like Romo has all day to pass back there. is the dallas o line that good?
If you listened to Detroit Sports Radio this week, you would think Romo was the scum of the earth and barely able to pass as a QB...
They were due for, in Wall Street terms, a "correction"
I love Backus, especially being a Michigan Man, but the one area the Lions haven't upgraded as much as they need to is the OL. Backus has turned into a penalty machine. Aside from that, what gives with the awful delay of game penalty????? But hopefully, this is just another slow start for the Lions and they'll wake up soon.
The 3-0 start was misleading. This is still a bad team. 6-10 is what i am thinking.
We get it, you don't like the Lions. Shut up about it already.
probably stop posting
i dont want to say the sky is falling... but we're playing like minnesota right now!
......Aaaaaannddd the Texans' season is over.
Andre Johnson's knee just gave out while he was running in the open field, and he crumpled up in a screaming mess on the ground, clutching it.
wow that's terrible. here's to it not being that serious, and if it is, here's to a speedy recovery
Yeah, it didn't look good. There's a chance it might not be that serious, as he was already dealing with knee issues coming into this game. So there's the possibility, he just tweeked it again.
That is the one thing I hate about the NFL...Injuries are so rampant. Their answer to it is that they are a part of the game....It really is surprising that Manning and Favre lasted as long as they did in this league without missing a game.
If Stafford can't do something this will get ugly. We already know we can't run the ball, if we can't complete a pass what do we do? We need to settle down and stop shooting ourselves in the foot.
lot of game left.
The Lions cannot move the ball and the defense is a sieve.
go to a Dallas blog or stop watching the game if you hate the Lions so much.
You sir are an idiot, do you remember last week? The lions are not out of it yet.
For the second week in a row, you look really stupid.
What do you have to say about the Lions now? If you talk shit and call them out, when they come back and win you better be coming back on here and eating that crow. Fuckin hater.
a bad Oline is a bad Oline..no getting around that. Our D is a one trick pony, if the front 4 cant win the battle the rest of the D will lose.
It's kind of looking like the Lions are going to need a Romo injury if they're going to win this game.
stub his toe or something. Being that we can't touch him I doubt we will hurt him.
Down 20-0 last week, now 17-0. They are have to find a way to get off to better starts.
No really, go away troll. You have ten (and counting) posts on this thread that don't add anything.
My posts have been too emotional, so I won't post as much. But trolling? Nah.
disagrees with you. Your posts are why the "Trolling" moderate button is there.
"So, in conclusion....Manos, The Hands Of Fate"
Torgo wobbles, but he won't fall down.
I thought people were being harsh by calling you a troll. Then I read all your garbage comments. Go crawl back under a bridge.
woah! nice play stafford!
Stafford is killing my fantasy team....
How so you think I feel?
FIRE JEFF BACKUS! Just got blown right past on that rush, forcing a throw and an incompletion.
Stafford is not going to make it a full season if the Lion's O-Line keeps this up.
does not look like himself. Is this a question of homecoming jitters? He has been slow to get the ball out, and he's missed wide open recievers. HOWEVA if any team has the firepower to get back in this its the Leos. CJ will get his, and that will turn this thing around.
he's worried about not dying.
CJ gets his. Let's finish this.
LOL. Joe Buck just said, "One thing that set that up was the 38 yard retard...return."
Highlight of the game so far.
Stafford can't seem to catch a break here
Bobby Carpenter ran a near-TD for a fumble in the end zone, which was recovered by Wright. Crazy. Read that one perfectly.
ADDENDUM: Chris Huston! Score!
You can only be picked on for so long!
Wow, the Cowboys just let us back in this game! Hopefully our offense can do something the next time we have it.
Delmas is such a garbage player.
bullshit call against Suh. he hit his shoulder
I like personal foul penalties to help protect players, but that one called on Suh was just flat out bs.
....just has to be so careful with contact after the QB throws the ball. He didn't make a lot of contact with Romo after the release, but the launching motion with his head just looks so bad in the ref's eyes, 'specially with the supposed emphasis on head shots. He'll draw a penalty 9 times out of 10 in that situation whether we like it or not. And that totally sucked...kept the drive alive for 3 points.
I the end, you just can't take the Lions out of the Lions: the bonehead penalty that keeps the Cowboys drive alive and kills whatever momentum we were trying to jack up.
In time, I guess, in time.
that penalty against Suh was bogus. Its the NFL mentality that the QB is a god and they think Suh is a dirty player because he's so incredibly strong. Look at the replay, he hit Romo on the shoulder and romo was spun around because of it. His finger may have nicked his facemask, but in no way was that roughing the passer.
i approve this message
Forward down the field,
A charging team that will not yield.
And when the Blue and Silver wave,
Stand and cheer the brave.
Rah, Rah, Rah.
Go hard, win the game.
With honor you will keep your fame.
Down the field and gain,
A Lion victory!
Let's get the ball back in the hands of Megatron.
Have faith my friends this is a new and hungry lions team
If the Cowboys lose this game then Simmons' suggestion of calling a brutual, game destroying turnover a ROMO needs to happen.
bs hold call
They are making up penalties now.
seriously? this is ridiculious. these refs are just calling bogus shit on the lions today
Refs were trash on that drive. TRASH!
Not to beat a dead horse, but the Lion's ability to shoot themselves in the foot is simply a wonder to behold.
tony romo is bad
Get the fuck off our field.
yeah he looks real hurt....
To milk the clock and complete another epic comeback.
That was a dirty play if I've ever seen one.
Edit: That tackle on CJ.
Where is SalvadoreQuattro now? I guess Dallas is Minnesota
Detroit scores against a 12-man defense.
In fairness, the Lions had 13 guys on the field: 11 players plus Calvin Johnson's 2 gigantic huevos.
Incredible rally by the Lions. The Lions are fo' real.
Calvin for NFC MVP.
Keep track of what down it is.
Good job, Lions. (Give thanks to Romo for those INTs.)
gg no re
Thanks Tony for the picks.
"HOLY SHIT! 4-0"
Sorry, had to share - long-suffering Lions fan here.
Last time I went to a game was 1980. Probably time to look into going back.
No soup for you!
a well-thought out truthful post from you
You look like one pathetic loser right now!
I have to remember to not to post when I am watching these games. The up-and-down nature of football can cause one to appear bipolar.
At least you're being a man and haven't disappeared as most sports trolls tend to do.
No... it's hard to drink the kool-aid when the Lions have won one playoff game in the last 52 years... or considering all the draft picks squandered... or all the clowns for head coaches... or GMs (Russ Thomas screwed this team up long before Matt Millen).
This is a weird feeling. I am actually slightly disappointed in a Lions ROAD victory. We played our worst offensive game of the season and the OLine was abused all day. The defense turned it around in the 2nd half a bit, but was abused in the first half. Overall I guess I we should all be happy to be 4-0 but we definitely have alot to work on.
ROMO: A disastrous turnover late in a game that ruins a team's chances of winning, and/or allows the opposing team a chance to win the game.
Another One Bites The Dust!
How about them Lions! Damn, it feels good to be a Lions fan. How many times have we been able to say that? Unbelievable...
Not since Wayne Fontes (glup) and Barry Sanders.
Stafford was like all "go to hell Cris Carter" with that winning touchdown.
What are the odds that SalvatoreQuattro is The_Big_House500th? The same emo overreactions as soon as he starts threatening people we'll know for sure.
If you have followed the Lions as long as I have you would understand the frustration. I am condoning my earlier posts--- I got to stay away from the CPU-- but this team has historically caused one to want to tear their hair out.
Who the fuck are you? Most of us have followed them as long as you have. Eat crow and stay the fuck off of the bandwagon.
I have been following the Lions since 75. I keep pinching myself to make sure this is real. There is a long way to go, but one thing is for sure, These are Not the Same Old Lions.
I think we'll find out for sure during the Stanley Cup playoffs this year.
That is all.
and this result pleases me! NOW GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish they had a camera on Jerry Jones the entire game and I could watch his facial expressions change.
he was like
But then he was all...
Eat that Rob Ryan!!! What a tool...
But man, these skiing one's are even more entertaining after the fact.
