The next generation of the Cass Tech-UMich pipeline. "The best players in Michigan play for Michigan"

So many bright young men played great Michigan football and are now coaching football in and around Michigan. I would love to play for the hammering panda- I just don’t have the body, age, talent, or eligibility.

Always liked the hammering panda. Too bad he fumbled that kickoff against iowa in ‘16. That game is in the top 10 of painful losses since my fandom started in ‘69.

Nothing good happens during night games @ Iowa. Blast those pink locker rooms!!

Get to Kinnick early with two 5 gallon buckets of navy blue paint and a sprayer. Problem solved. Can't believe it's never been done.

I hear you, but as painful as it was, it didn’t cave our chances of the B1G championship or the CFP. That was all still on the table against OSU.

The Big Ten championship, yes. But a win at Iowa would have made us a strong CFP contender despite the OSU outcome. We would have been 11-1 with the one loss being in double overtime on the road, turning on a controversial call.

True. That game is in my top 5 of horrifying losses.

The calvacade of errors in the Iowa game contributed to the loss against OSU. If Speight isn't put in as many obvious passing situations, maybe he doesn't get injured on a drop back. I believe a healthy Speight leads Michigan to wins the next 2 weeks.

Speight had trouble throwing the deep ball all game in that Iowa game. I suspect he was injured in practice, and it occurred to me that he never could throw the deep ball and Iowa figured that out. The late crushing tackle may have exacerbated an existing injury.
Iowa's theatrical punter will be on my despicable list for eternity.

Nice to have advocates on the coaching staff.....

Khalid Hill deserved a shot in the NFL. He was a very good receiver and a solid blocker at the FB spot. Would have been a ten year pro back in the day.

Fullback is the most football of football positions. There is a reason they get nicknames. Hammering Panda. Murderface.
February 7th, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
It's a travesty that Hill didn't stick with the NFL. 20 years ago maybe there's 45 fullback roster spots instead of 10-15 and I bet he sticks on a roster.

It's weird how certain body types make it in one generation or level and not another. I remember as a kid watching Mark Messner getting interviewed about trying to transition to LB for the Rams. (Though I remember it as the Raiders.) Guy was an animal D-lineman in college but wasn't the right type for the NFL. Wonder where he'd fit in today. I'm guessing he would have added another 30 pounds and been fine.

I always loved Khalid. It's too bad the NFL doesn't really desire his skill set because he was awesome at what he did

Questionable “hands”? Pass catching may have been a problem.

I assume Hill has a good relationship with Michigan/Harbaugh. Hopefully Dawson does too.

Obligatory:
