John U. Bacon on Michigan Olympians (Michigan Radio)

Yet another fine radio commentary by John U. Bacon; this one on a brief history of Michigan Athletes at the Olympics.

There's an audio link which is nice.

Michigan track & field athletes, in the era(s) of Eddie Tolan and Willis Ward, is a subject for all of us to appreciate.  On the day that Ferry Field hosted the conference outdoor track & field championships on May 25,1935, when Jesse Owens set four world records -- and Michigan won the meet -- a dominant national Olympic team could have been picked just from the guys on our field that day.

Not a fan. Sorry, but i don't like anyone that kissed Rich Rod's ass. I know I may lose points (I use the Droid app so who cares) or make other royalty mad, but it is just my opinion. He probably is a great guy. I just don't like his writing, but still respect his opinion. I know the other ass kissers will defend, so fire away. Go blue!

I just realized that my date to my senior prom's brother is going to be swimming in the olympics and is currently roommates with Michael Phelps.

And that's my "cool story, bro" story of the day.
