Jim Harbaugh pairing at Pebble Beach Pro AM

Submitted by OldDad67 on

Coach tees off at 9:17 am Thursday at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club (Shore Course). He's paired with Matt Bettencourt (who?). They other pair in the foursome is Jarrod Lyle (who?) and Huey Lewis.

EDIT: I stand corrected. After seeing the comment below stating that the link above is for the 2nd round, I re-checked and the first round tee time for coach is 10:01 am at Spyglass Hill. Same pairings, of course.

Jim Harbaugh looked at the pairings this morning and saw that he was paired with Huey Lewis. At that precise moment, Huey happened to be walking by. JH then proclaimed to Huey that it looks like I'm stuck with you for the pro-am!!

Jarrod Lyle has a great story. Australian golfer diagnosed with leukemia at 17. Took him two years to get back on the course after beating it. He got back out on Tour and was diagnosed with a recurrence in 2012. He beat it again and is now back and competing. Great guy and someone to root for.

The best news with this tee time is he is set to play Pebble Beach on Saturday. Saturday is when the majority of high profile celebs play Pebble so that CBS can televise it. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of Harbaugh on Saturday.

Jason Day was JH's 2013 Pebble Beach pro-am partner.  They played in a 4-some with Bettencourt and Matt Cain (Bettencourt's partner) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

So, Harbaugh & Bettencourt probably have a relationship from 2013.  Thus, why JH is paired with the "no-name."

FWIW, Day is paired with Jim Lentz (Toyota CEO) for a 2nd straight year.  Day was likely "unavailable as a partner for Harbaugh" for that reason.
