Well, he must have really wanted to get away from home ...
Next!
Not all three of them committed to Oregon. Just Randall.
The OP was only saying that Evans and Aiken are Randall's high school teammates.
They have proven they can make some people pretty good QBs (Dixon, Guy who no longer plays QB because he decided to steal computers), and they currently don't have much depth there, can't say it's a bad choice on the kids part if he also likes the school and coaching staff.
The amenities there aren't anything to bite your thumb at either.
Interesting that he decided to commit before even visiting. They really sold him on Dennis Dixon eh?
This just "holds his spot." Oregon is pretty picky about when they let recruits commit. He hasn't officially committed, in their eyes, because he hasn't visited.
Since Jeremiah Masoli is gone, there's a pretty good opportunity to play soon, too.
Wasn't Masoli gone after this fall anyway, had he not forgone his senior year to go pro in crime?
Oregon did bring in a pretty solid QB last fall in Bryan Bennett, who was a 4-star. He's listed as a pro-style QB, but reports a 4.6 40. He'll be a true frosh this fall, and will likely get thrown into the fire now that Masoli's gone.
Masoli had one year of eligibility left after this season, so he could have come back to play in 2011.
Does Oregon not have a viable backup behind Masoli? Is Costa still around?
Costa is a senior in 2010.
I believe the other guy in the running to play is a kid named _______ Thomas, who's got two or three years left.
It's Darron Thomas, and he's the favorite to be the starter. He is more like Masoli than Costa is, and the fans want to see him get a good shot. He played well against Boise two years ago, IIRC.
Does this change anything for Brett Hundley?
I would be surprised to see Hundley come to Michigan. He's an excellent prospect, and the depth chart at Michigan isn't exactly welcoming. I expect Hundley to stay on the west coast (Oregon, Arizona, Washington) or end up in the SEC (LSU, for example).
Well i think we most likely get Marquise Williams now, but now Oregon is out of the running for Hundley now we might have a better shot now too but seems like Williams will go blue instead of hundley. Either way they both are solid dual-threat QBs
Williams is most likely going to UNC. The longer we can draw out the recruitment, the better, but right now signs point to him committing to the Tar Heels.
I think we'll end up with a quarterback that hasn't been offered by us yet. I don't have any names, but all our offered QBs are probably ticketed elsewhere.
I can't imagine any highly-rated QB committing to UM at this point given all of the young QB talent already on the roster. I wouldn't.
I'm with Magnus here. You'll probably see a similar guy to Conelius Jones (who can switch positions down the line), or even Kevin Sousa. He's said many times he'd love a Michigan offer, and he's done pretty well at camps. The offers haven't come yet though.
UNC already have a QB commited, Williams likes RR, but still you're right about UNC being the team to beat thou. I agree with Magnus on that we might score on a QB prospect with no offer yet. One name that comes to mind is Kevin Sousa, i dunno who else.
I think Michigan should go hard for is next year's 2012 Dr.Phillips Nick Patti. I would compare him to Tate too.
