Jason Avant and Jack Miller to Join Michigan Football Radio Broadcasts

Submitted by Maizinator on August 12th, 2022 at 1:40 AM

With Karsch and Jansen now doing the broadcast, more new blood coming in with Avant (sideline) and Miller (analyst).

It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

I remember being stuck in traffic near the train station driving home from 2014 maryland.

They interviewed Jack Miller and he made a comment that they team had nothing to play for.

Not beating ohio state, not making a bowl game?

He said oh yeah, I guess.

The mentality of that team and hoke regime was fucked up.

Didn't he also just pick up and quit soon after Harbaugh was hired?

It will be great to have a new crew broadcasting - nothing against Brandstatter and Dierdorf - but, it does seem like the reigns have been passed to a new generation.

The crew should reflect all that Michigan sports is about, and - hopefully, Jim and Dan will stop by occasionally with a “hello”.

I often saw Jansen tossing a football with, I assume, one of his sons or nephews - near our tailgate on game days,

Not only that, hopefully the tide is shifting and the so called "stink" is coming off of the program. We got past Rich Rod. We got past Hoke. Harbaugh finally beat Ohio State and won a Big Ten Championship. We have another great team this year. Let's stay behind this team and keep rolling!

MJC,  I’d like to believe my view of life is “glass half full”, and - I always support every student athlete on every team in every sport.

There were years when it was “a bit more challenging” to be optimistic prior to a season’s start.  This year, is not one of those challenging years.

I hope the leadership on the team has been embraced - and the formal leaders (captains) and informal leaders - are communicating “what it takes”.  And, on a side note - keeping players on the roster, in the program, (I hope) reflects the culture.

To temper my expectations and not get too worked up over a loss, I would always lower my win total expectations. That way when seasons like last year where I expected them to win 7 and they did what they did. The 97 season I went in thinking another 9-3 final record. 2006, I thought 8 wins would be it. Hokes first year with 11 wins I thought 8 was the cap. Those seasons feel so much rewarding this way.
