Jake Butt on Dusty and Danny on ESPNU (Sirius/XM)

Jake Butt was on Dusty and Danny in the Morning on ESPNU-Sirius/XM this morning.

I thought he did a fantastic job, think he might be a natural.  Anyone else get to catch him this morning and if so, what are your thoughts.

Interesting observation on his behalf regarding Harbaugh at the Big Ten media days when coach was quoted as saying regarding Matt Weiss that "He hasn't called a play he didn't like".  I know a few of us are wondering how the new co-offensive cooridinators will do, let's hope this bode well.

3rd and 1. 3 TEs and 11 OL... UP THE MIDDLE!!

4th and 1. MORE UP THE MIDDLE!!!

When that stops, I am more likely to believe that Harbaugh is less involved. This team has so many dynamic playmakers that squaring up in the box to just manball it through is doing us a disservice.

Our RBs are super dynamic. Our WRs are shifty, quick, down field threats. Our TEs are big and catch well. Use that shit.

Shhhhhh...  don't you know that you cannot satisfy everyone.  We win and some people are,"still" unhappy.  And you can't change that!!!  BIG10 CHAMPIONS and a playoff appearance.  Harbaugh sucks...  Fire Warde...  great fans always want more.  Stop running H2 because it's boring.  He's scoring too much.  We won the line of scrimmage...  Snore fart Snore!!!

Let the miserable,"STAY" miserable.

GO BLUE FOREVER

I do - and against OSU, a team with better talent, we should play to that advantage. As I pointed out, this year we have a lot of weapons, 2 experienced (ish) QBs, no haskins. Both our RBs are great in space, and not likely smashmouth type runners.

And if this year, we are a run dominant team and can run osu into submission, i'm all for it. That said, when we play the northwesterns, iowas, msus, and other teams who want to muck it up with us to even the playing field, we should lean on OUR talent advantage. This year, to me, the passing game can become a huge asset, if we protect the ball.

"... teams who want to muck it up with us to even the playing field ..."

I've never understood this thinking. If Michigan doesn't get into a "rock fight" it's partly up to them. It doesn't much matter what the "Iowas" want us to do. They're not obligated to try to pound the rock if that doesn't look like the best strategy. Recall how Alabama passed Sparty silly a few years back in the playoff. (They played to Sparty's relative weakness.)

Also, why is it assumed that running "protects the ball" better than passing? What if you're better at passing? What if you gain two yards running up the middle on the first three downs? Are you going to run again on fourth down? No -- you'll most likely be punting.

My impression of that quote was that Harbaugh was talking about himself in that he hasn't called a play he didn't like, and that the players can execute anything "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead", while Weiss is much more analytical, looking at the game plan from every angle, "measure twice and cut once".

He said they balance each other out well, because of the different mindsets or orientations if you will.  Moore was described as a mix of Harbaugh and Weiss into one personality.

It will be interesting how it all plays out.
