I purchased my tickets through the IU ticket office (in the U of M section !) and just recieved the following e-mail tonight:

I'm pretty sure the SW corner of the bypass around Indianapolis  where IN-37 is accessed to Bloomington is still a mess so you might want to plan your way and have an alternate set up if you are coming south through Indy.

I am an IU student and my apartment is right next to the bypass and the traffic is terrible there on a normal day. On game day it will be more than terrible and will be backed up for miles. I would really advise people to show up early. I wouldn't want any Michigan fans to miss Denard Robinson putting up 300yrds of offense in the first quarter.

Traffic into Memorial Stadium is awful even when there is no construction. If you can't get there the night before I'd highly recommend making an entire day out of it and tailgating in the massive parking lots surrounding the stadium.

Honestly, if you can get there the night before it's worth it. Bloomington is a really nice town with some fun bars. It's probably my favorite Big Ten location outside of Ann Arbor.

To take 65-S from Indianapolis, then take 46-W into Bloomington? It adds about 30 minutes to the normal route without traffic, but it might save time due to the congestion on 37 which is sounding like a nightmare.
