OT thread that is so very OT that I will let the citizens of the MGoBoard decide, by public vote, whether or not it stays on the board:

šŸ‘  or  šŸ‘Ž ?

For what it's worth as much as being made about Baker having a chip on his shoulder and wanting to prove to the Brown's organization how much he was disrespected I do know that there was equal animosity in that locker room towards him and the defense especially has something that they want to show.

So so the sword cuts in both directions here not just one

And whatever Watson did doesn't begin to compare with the massacre of native Americans by western settlers.

OK ball in your court now.  Where on earth did you get a comparison of Watson misdeeds to Baker's relationship with his ex-teammates in my post?

I'm a Baker fan BTW.  Hope he rebounds and has a killer season, just not in game one.

Anyone outside of the pound wants to see Baker pound the Browns franchise for offering Watson that huge contract with complete disregard for due diligence. Although Watson is entitled to his due process for anyone not a Brownie it does not pass the sniff test.

Any question of Baker in the locker room without mention of Watson draws ire fairly.

The only thing better then a Carolina win would be Baker planting a Panthers flag at the pound.

Watson is a predator and the Browns would have been better to not have traded for him. However, the Browns were going to move on from Baker whether or not they landed Deshuan. Don't give me anything about the media posturing that they wouldn't trade him. If they wiffed on Watson, they were trading for Jimmy G and moving on from someone who as MGrowOld mentioned, was toxic within the Browns locker room.

Sure.  OBJ was one of the most popular & well-liked Browns in the locker room.  It was widely felt that for whatever reason Baker would not look his way on most routes (Baker's camp said OBJ was free-lancing, OBJ's camp said he was in the correct spot) so friction developed between the two.

Last year after the Steelers home game everything came to a head.  OBJ was only targeted twice, the last one being in the waning minutes of a lost game, and Baker missed him badly.   After the game OBJ's dad posted on YouTube a montage of clips showing a wide open OBJ with the ball not coming his way.  The locker room split and by Friday OBJ was cut.   Many of the Browns players blamed Baker for the problems and weren't happy he was let go.  Compounding things was Baker's insistence on continuing to play despite his fairly severe injury that limited his ability to throw and hurt the team badly down the stretch.  Rumor also had it that before the Packers game Baker had Covid but instead of studying the playbook he played COD non-stop for the week and was ill-prepared to play.  That was also a common whisper around here - that Baker talked a good game but really didnt put in the time/work necessary to succeed.  True or not I do not know - but that reputation was definitely here.

As stated above - I'm a big Baker fan and hope he does great in Carolina, just not game one.  But understand there were significant issues here that led to the Browns moving on from him and many of them occurred in the locker room.
