It's been two weeks since regents met RE NCAA practicegate investigation.

On February 3, Seth9 posted about a F**** story [print link] concerning the regents' "informal meeting" RE the NCAA investigation. His post contained the following:
The report also mentions that the university will probably release information on the matter in two weeks.
This is stated in the linked article as follows:
Although some have said the news could come any day, regents expect the university to announce the results of the NCAA investigation in a couple of weeks, another person familiar with the situation said.
Brian's post on the same subject links to an ESPN story. The ESPN story credits AP for most of the story, but singles out the F**** as follows:
The Detroit Free Press, citing a person it did not name, said the regents expect the university to announce the results of its probe in a couple weeks.
(Do I detect a note of caution here in dealing with claims made in the F****?) Starting with Seth9's text, the two-week timeline lodged in my head, but on second look, it appears this is solely based on another of the F****'s noteworthy anonymous sources. Question: Is anybody aware of any other independent mention of this two-week deadline, or should I disregard it as more of the F****'s attention-getting nonsense, in which case, we will just hear what we hear when we hear it?

JFC...Did you have a calendar event setup so that you wouldn't forget? Why is everyone so anxious to get this news? If it's bad, then push it off as long as we can. If it's good it doesn't matter.

as the time for the beginning of the end of the anti-RR jihad, not to mention Rosenberg's final and complete humiliation. Only now I find that all the sources for the timing of the end of this long wait are based on the paper that kicked up all this fuss in the first place.

it has been a super-busy week around here, with all the minor position changes, hypothesizing on recruits 11 months before signing day, baseball preview and talking about what high school everyone went to. maybe that information about the report just got lost in the shuffle? we will just hear what we hear when we hear it

The F**** is an obscenity. If some choose to use stars instead of printing the full word out, I think it's just their style and a clever way of telling them their name isn't worth printing. AAMOF, I kinda like it because it adds another F-word to the "cuss" list. I might even start doing it myself, even though I have no problem with vulgarities in print, as a show of an utter lack of respect.

I wouldn't be surprised if they announce something tomorrow. Whatever the results are, it will be nice to finally get this issue resolved.

This may be a non story ....because they didn't freepin find anything. If it comes to pass that the practice gate jihad was all for naught then I shall forever replace the Fbomb with "freepin".

i really just want to get this stupid issue out of the way, so the announcers will finally shut the hell up about it along with journalist's looking to add fuel to the fire. It will be nice to finally not have to worry about it anymore

I would assume that if we were going to get nailed, it'd have leaked already (especially given the connections the Freep has to people pretty high up). So no news is (most likely) good news.

If you put Rich Rod's apparent demeanor and comments at the DAC together with the liklihood of serious penalties, I would speculate that the likelihood of serious penalties is low.

What else is he going to do? He has to put on a front no matter what. Its not like he can walk up there and say, "Well fellas, we are fucked. We broke the rules and we are going to get hammered." I dont think anything is going to come of this, but I also think your logic is a little faulty.
