It's 1 day after staff contracts expired. No press releases. Seriously?

Okay, at this point being forced to hunt and peck for which members of the staff were let go is not cool.

Have any of our quasi-insiders heard anything new or interesting?

I think that people who have a formal education can sometimes overthink/over rationalize things. Western education emphasizes analytical thinking. Which is great! But knowing when to rely on intuition is also a very important life skill.

One of my favorite quotes of all time: "I never let my schooling interfere with my education" -Mark Twain

Much like the HC, assistants are probably negotiating contracts and/or leveraging offers from elsewhere. Might also have to wait on word for defensive assistants til we have a DC.

So far, according to what I've read (Mostly from Sam Webb),

On offense:

  • Gattis is coming back
  • Jay Harbaugh was offered a job by Jedd Fisch and turned it down, so it looks like he is coming back.
  • Sam thinks Warinner and Moore have a good chance of being back, but he has not heard anything about their status yet.
  • Ben McDaniels is gone

On defense:

  • Sam has heard that Jean Mary is coming back. He was apparently dispatched to smooth things over with Junior Colson.
  • Shoop is likely gone
  • No word on Zordich or Nua

No kidding. If you don't replace a guy that didn't show up for work this year (regardless of the reasons), then there is no hope going forward. A knowledgable professional better be showing up to coach Dax Hill this year, or else...

Anyone think we'll actually hear what the hell happened with the Shoop situation? Unless it is already common knowledge and I'm an idiot.

I would personally hold off judgment on Jean Mary's coaching ability at this point. He was hired in January and there was no spring practice, so any changes in terminology, technique, etc. he wanted to implement had to be done with an odd schedule. Also, weren't half of the linebackers Don Brown's direct responsibility? There could have been some communication issues between the two of them.
