Interesting Michigan Tournament Uni Question
Michigan is set to play Tennessee in the NCAA tournament. The Wolverines are the higher seed, which means they’ll probably wear their home uniform.
The issue: Michigan likes to wear its yellow (“maize”) uniforms in big games. And NCAA chalk after being picked to finish like, ninth in the Big Ten or something would certainly count as a big game. But Tennessee’s road uniforms are a rather pale shade of orange, which will probably be too close. Can Michigan make them wear white? Or will yellow be considered too close to that, too? What’s the rule in the NCAA?
Do we know the answer to this?
Tennessee would not be able to wear their orange uniforms. They would have to wear the white ones.

That's the most logical answer to me.
but I think Michigan will end up wearing white on Friday
Page 17 of the participant manual:
"Teams must bring both light and dark uniforms. The higher seeded team will wear its light uniforms. If the higher seeded team's light uniforms are not in a color contrasting with the lower seeded team's uniforms, the lower seeded team must adjust and wear a contrasting color."

I assume that if Michigan brings Maize as their "light" uniform and Blue as their "dark" uniform, that would force Tennessee to wear their white uniforms in the first game.

if we wore our maize and Tennessee wore their orange (including Pearl in that hideous orange jacket), HDTV's around the country would be burning out fools retinas left and right.

Maize uni for the rest of the tournament. Got to pay homage to the Fab 5 especially if they faced Duke in the 2nd round and somehow face SDSU in elite 8.
Doesn't Tennesee have black alternates (or is that just for football)?
