If You’re Going To Say Anything Bad About This Team

Being "the most proud" after a loss that should have been a huge victory for the program that was a loss largely because of the numerous mistakes made by the coaching staff and the players throughout the game says a lot about the loser mentality of this fan base. There are no such things as "moral victories" in year 5. PSU is not a good team. Michigan is better. They should have won. And they didn't because they can't stop shooting themselves in the foot. That's nothing to be proud of.

Agreed!  These boys played their ass off tonight vs a top 10 team on the road!  And really outplayed them everywhere but the scoreboard.  Very proud of these guys fighting out of that early hole.  Go blue, and I wouldn't want to be ND next wkd.

Nothing bad about the team nor Bell who carried a lot in this game so I don’t blame him. A little sloppy play early but a valiant effort in the second half. They showed some guts and resilience. The defensive scheme got exploited a bit but damn these guys fought their asses off and out gained PSU I believe.

Kudos to players. They played hard. Haven’t been more proud of PLAYERS in a loss in a long time.

Coaches? They need to be fired. At least the 3 main ones in Harbaugh/Brown/Gattis. The fact Brown put safeties on an island multiple times on Hamler one of fastest players in college is beyond stupid. Fact you try and kick a 58 yard FG when your kicker can’t make from over 50 is beyond stupid. Running into line multiple times on key 3rd down plays is beyond stupid. Not throwing deep balls to Nico more often is beyond stupid. Not calling plays to sell on the run the last drive is beyond stupid.,

End of day. Thank you players for playing hard and leaving it all out there.  Coaches are awful. Stubborn and stupid. Bad combo.

So this is where Michigan football is at? Now the school and program that celebrates moral victories not the actual ones but moral victories?

Exactly. You can be proud of the players' fight while still acknowledging that this loss fits the trend of failing to win the big games. If we were winning conference titles, beating Ohio State, and beating ranked teams on the road, then sure, shrug off this loss.

But we're not, and I'm tired of this fanbase being divided into Harbaugh haters and Harbaugh apologists. I love Michigan and I root for this team with all my heart. That mean we have to pretend that the team is meeting expectations

Couldn’t agree more. Proud of the effort and didn’t give up. Tough break at the end. Learn from it and move on.

All the haters can fuck off, they are kids and gave their best.

I wasnt cringing at the play calling all game, and shea looked good.  I'm more optomistic now.  Outstanding effort, but too slow a start to overcome.

If bell caught the ball I think we pull that out.  I do think michigan was the better team despite the point differential.

I don't mind people having a different opinion and even being pessimistic but all the negativity could be kept in one thread.  Period.  Tired of seeing new posts with a new way to state how the sky is falling.

They played really hard. When it got to be 21-0, I expected them to phone it in and have a repeat of Wisconsin, Florida, OSU, 2017 PSU etc. I was wrong. But also, the fact we were all thinking that indicates some problematic issues with the program's fortitude in recent times.

Yeah they played hard. Felt like Michigan was the better team. Really only like 2 or 3 bad plays from the players. Probably similar number of bad calls from the coaches.

+1000

People posting their knee jerk reaction trash about our coaches or players after that game by just looking at the final score either 1) didn’t watch the game, or 2) are our version of the “10% of every fan base sucks”, or 3)  Never played the game at any reasonably high level to have any respect for what these kids did tonight.

Know bad football when you see it?  Is it that obvious?

Man, you must be an expert.  Why aren’t you coaching?  Surprised you’re gracing us with your presence this evening.   Don’t you have some consulting / gameplan work to put together or something?  You must just be on a break.

Hahahahaha great rebuttal!

“if you know what good football is and what bad football is when you see it, why aren’t you coaching?!”

I know good driving and bad driving when I see it and guess what, I’m not a race car driver you dumb ass.

I legitimately feel sorry for fans like you.

Just once. Just ONCE I want to enjoy a victory in a game Michigan wasn't expected to win.

Just once.

Still waiting under Harbaugh.

Fuck you. The team was a stink bomb for the season and half of this game. They may have finally become a team in the second half which would be encouraging if not in year 5 of the great Jim Harbaugh. If I, or anyone, wants to be critical, we've earned that right. Don't need your dumb pollyanna ass saying otherwise.

Yep.  They played hard, didn't give up, came charging back, and almost made it.

I admire that a lot.

A tough one, but it's now in the past.  Time to focus on the positives and look forward to the next one.
