How many sacks does Hutchinson have on the season?
Weird question, but I could've sworn that he and Ojabo both had 10 going into The Game. ESPN currently has Ojabo with 11 on the season and Hutchinson with 12. Doesn't quite make sense with Ojabo having one and Hutchinson having three on Saturday.
Am I missing something? I saw some graphics with Hutchinson having 13 sacks on the season to cement his UM record.

They said several times during the gamecast he was at 13. Not sure where the 12 number you cite is coming from.

ESPN currently has him at 12 on the season, with 3 in the last game. Either they're wrong or some authority retroactively took one away, which would be lame

MGoBlue.com stats has him for 12.5.
So the Fox announcers said 13 and everyone has been running with it, MGoBlue has 12.5 and ESPN 12. I know MGoBlue had him for 9.5 before the OSU game, so there is some sack out there that he has credit for that ESPN never gave him and the scoring that goes to MGoBlue gets credited him for half a sack on.

The MGoBlue stats have been annoying me all season, there are numerous obvious and correctable errors that could be corrected by the SI staff, but it doesnt look like they have combed through the game files much to find errors/formatting issues/naming issues that cause those incorrect stats (source: have experience with how those files are inputted to a website like that)

All the commentary I've seen says he's got 13 on the season.

I believe he just got another one.

On the season so far

Prior to The Game I looked and ESPN showed Ojabo with 10 and Hutchinson with 9.

The Big Ten website has him at 13 and Ojabo at 11.
I noticed halfway through the season that the Big Ten and ESPN’s stats didn’t match up.
What we have right now though is something historic. Hutchinson will be the all time Michigan single season sack leader, unless Ojabo catches or even passes him which isn’t totally out of the question considering that we potentially have 3 more games left and Hutchinson will command more attention. But there’s a real likelihood that they will finish 1st and 2nd on the all time single season sack record. Just think about that. Special seasons require special players and we have that right now on our edges.

Does anyone know who held the previous sack record and how many games did they play?
November 29th, 2021 at 1:03 AM ^
In one of the pregame shows they said it was LaMarr Woodley.

Before yesterday:
12 - Woodley (13 games), Bowens (12 g)
11 - Messer (12 g), Chris Hutchinson (12 g), Horn (13 g), Hall (13 g)
Now Hutchinson has the record with 13 and Ojabo is in that 11 sack group 12 games in.

If Spencer Petras plays, he might have an even 20 after Saturday

Sam and Ira were discussing this either last week, or the week before. The Mgoblue sack stats were missing a game.

NCAA is the official stat keeper and they have him at 13. There have been stat changes made to prior games and that’s where you’ll find the discrepancies.

I know this is kind of petty, but if you go back and watch the NIU game, he CLEARLY sacks Rocky ~2 yards behind the LOS and never got credit for that sack on any site, this has always bothered me. Makes me wonder how many other times this happens.
