How do cord cutters watch Michigan games?

MOD EDIT - BUMPED BECAUSE THIS WILL COME UP TODAY TOO - LSA

I just had my first cable companies suck experience and now know first-hand why people hate them so much. I recently started a graduate program and currently have a basic cable package that includes no sports channels (roommates set this up before I moved in). This obviously sucks because I only watch sports on TV. I know there are several cord cutters here on the board so what are some affordable ways yall catch M games? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Also, have basic sports channels always been a premium service like HBO? That doesn't seem right to me.

EDIT: Thank you so much guys! It seems PlaystationVue is the best option for me. I'll pitch it to my roommates to see if they want cancel the cable (not contracted). I'm getting it regardless but if we share, it'll be cheaper for all of us.

If you want to avoid Mike Patrick and co, WCBN (student radio) is doing an audio broadcast of the game, which you can listen to at wcbnsports.org. I know self-promotion is a no-go on the blog, but I think it's worth giving us/them a shot.

Good morning all. I signed up for PS Vue on Friday after reading alot of this thread. I am still by no means a PS Vue expert.

I've read alot of this thread, but havent seen these specific questions answered:

1. When at a public wifi, is it better to use the PS Vue Mobile app, or to use BTN2Go.

2. Will the PS Vue mobile app only work when connected to your own wifi network?

I have decent wifi coverage, but was disappointed at how frequently PS Vue had to cache content when watching walking dead sunday night. I'd had to invite people over, or try to cast from my phone to a TV at a party and have that experience for a game. This weekend's game on BTN will be my first time trying to use PS Vue for a game as last week I used my HD antenna.

Thoughts?
