How come Michigan basketball can beat teams that cheat?!

Submitted by UMxWolverines on November 30th, 2019 at 6:48 PM

Since OSU cheats and the talent is too much to overcome and the refs and this and that?

How could we beat UNC the other day? Inconceivable!

Because in basketball, having quality upperclassmen trumps a team full of 18 year olds. Now, when you go against a team that has both (Nova in the title game), that's where you get beat. The one and done is an equalizer in hoops.

You think you are being smart with this post but it’s honestly very ignorant. A team of polished upperclassmen can beat a bunch of 18 year old athletic freaks. In football even the super stars are their 3 years. Oh and I think Howard may be cheating. We are suddenly in on a bunch of 5 stars. I sure hope he is anyway.

I’m just being honest. If I saw a young former player go to coach OSU and immediately recruit elite talent I would think he is cheating.

If we can’t close the deal on a couple of these elite recruits then I will no longer believe we are cheating. Which would be very disappointing. If you are not cheating, you are a loser. At the very least Howard is willing to mingle with the dirty handlers of the AAU, even if he isn’t actually dropping bags.

Maybe, just maybe they aren't actually cheating.

Maybe Ohio St has better recruiting (fact), better strength and conditioning program (fact), better coaching (fact) and has for almost 20 years

I know it's hard but unless you have actual proof of cheating, maybe stop saying Ohio St cheats and just accept you aren't a Blueblood football program, and you haven't been since before World War 2

What type of proof would suffice for you ? Do you expect me to have receipts for the backpacks of cash OSU players get ? Just be happy to be a fan of a winning team. Don’t insult my intelligence and claim OSU doesn’t pay players. You are either a liar or incredibly naive.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I mean, how fucking dense do you have to be to make this thread and the team that beat us literally had their title vacated?

There's just no intellectual integrity anymore. Just whining emotional cheap shots. I mean if you took 5 seconds to consider, you'd see how incorrect you are.

Be better, OP. Don't be lazy.

That's MSU talk.

I don't think many posters understand how the academic and research wings don't really care if Michigan wins or loses against OSU. Michigan will always play by the rules if the university leaders have any say.

OSU is a football school first. Michigan will never be that.

It's hard to compare the two sports.  Basketball is a fairly high-variance sport because teams can go through hot or cold nights shooting the ball.  Also, the top teams tend to be young (because the best NBA prospects leave after one year) which is the opposite of football.

It's simple: The 5-$tar$ can leave for the pros after one year in basketball, while they've got to stay for 3 years in football. Imagine if all those one-and-done players had to stay three years. College hoops would become college football.

You realize that it was Michigan basketball and football who were named the Adidas trial for paying players, right?  You are either stupid, delusional, ignorant, or all three to post shit like this.
