Help finding a holiday decoration
About 10 years ago I was in an Mden store and they had an under the tree U of M train set. I couldn't afford that at the time ($300), but for the past few years have been looking for it again. Mden people I talk to must be too new to the job because they just look at my cross eyed when i ask about it. Does anyone have this set? online doesn't come up with any results, but my search paramaters are rather broad. if someone has this can you please provide some details (Maker, model etc...). If someone has it and wants to sell it, let me know.
I did find this, but don't think it's the same thing.

Get creative and make your own. Get a good train set and customize it. Much more satisfying in the end, plus then you can any train set you want.

I think this is the one my father-in-law has (the link is just for the box, not an actual set, though):

I think that may be the set. I'll look for that one. Thanks!

Why in God's name would anyone pay 60 bucks for the box?

Just found the picture online, and I believe it is from the Danbury Mint Collection, a search turned up a couple of old EBay auctions. I guess you could call their customer service if this is the trainset you are looking for...? If I can find this at home, I will get you more specific information latter, but I can't make any promises.

I had no idea that existed before you posted it. And now I have to buy it for my son (me) for Christmas.

Maybe just wander aimlessly around Bronner's until you get lost and end up forgetting about the set since you'll be more concerned about survival at that point.

I LOVE Christmas stuff, but I can't handle Bronners any more. Actually, there's a lot of junk there and your brain starts to fry after a while looking at the glitter and lights. Then there's the endless crowds of people with kids.....

I would only ever consider going to Bronner's in like, June or something like that. We'll still probably drive by the lights this year but other than that I am staying away from that place around this time of year.

Mid-day during the spring/summer/fall. Last time I was there it was pretty empty.
They do have a lot of garbage now, but there's still some great stuff too. Worth stopping by if you're in the area.

I bought this set a few years ago, and it was marked down significantly. I haven't seen it since. (I live in AA and stop by MDen fairly regularly.)
EBay (Wan) may be your only hope.

Do they still sell Michigan bowl ornaments? I still have the Rose and Orange Bowl ones.

Speaking of bowl game stuff, I have a big collection of Michigan bowl game glasses going back to the early 80's. They all have the bowl game logo, year, and teams on the front, and the scores of all the games on the back. Some years recently I haven't been able to buy them any more -probably because no one made them.

I hope you find it.

On the same lines--does anyone know where I can get one of those stuffed "wolverines" that stands up and sort of dances to hail to the victors and let's go blue? Can't find them anymore :(
