Honestly I was never that high on Harbaugh. When Carr didn't hire him to coach QBs here he became a petulant little child and he was always a bit of an ass at Stanford. It was funny watching him get under Caroll's skin, but not exactly what I want in a Michigan coach.
I still think if he'd come here he'd have stayed long enough to right the ship, declared himself the savior of the program and gone to the NFL. In my personal view, Harbaugh would have been five years of victories, the fanbase cringing everytime he opened his mouth and then some kind of weird hostage situation where he flirted with the NFL and we weren't sure if he was going or staying. Then of course he'd leave and we'd bust out flight tracker.

Harbaugh has said himself that he didn't blame Carr for going with Loeffler over him. If he did blame him, he'd have the right to. Of the two candidates, one is an NFL head coach with a BCS win under his belt. The other is just getting his first OC gig and it's at Temple.
Pretty clear who the bigger coaching star has been.

Harbaugh and Hart both talk trash. Few have Harbaugh's track record of backing it up more, both as a player and as a coach.

Okay, maybe my parochialism is showing, but even in this paragraph where he's described as practicing with a couple of players new to the team, coincidentally the only fellow alumni on the roster? (He let David Baas, SF's starting center, go to the Giants.)
At a practice this month, Harbaugh zipped throws to Braylon Edwards, the former Jet who signed with the 49ers as a free agent. Harbaugh rushed toward his quarterbacks during a passing drill like a basketball player defending a 3-point shooter. The previous day he spent several minutes lined up behind the team’s new center, Jonathan Goodwin, tutoring his quarterbacks on where to place their hands to receive the snap.
EDIT: Okay, they're forgiven. Given the article about Denard, the editors couldn't chance overdoing the Michigan focus.

If harbaugh were our coach do you think he could have gotten all of these recruits we have for the 2012 class?

I'm sure he'd have recruited well also. He was a great recruiter at Stanford, after all. Overall I imagine he'd have been successful here - but I agree with CRex that Harbaugh probably would have been itching for a pro job eventually. At the time of the coaching change, I would have been willing to put up with that (and with his occasional asshole tendencies) if it meant turning the program around. But now that Hoke has landed two very accomplished coordinators and recruited extremely well, I'm pretty content with how things turned out.
